Does anyone have their iPhone working with the bluetooth option on the Mini - without the NAV option?

Today, Ask Mini told me specifically that it would NOT work. But I've seen some postings where people said theirs did. I don't have the NAV option, but I don't know if that matters.

I don't like the (very short) list of phones that Mini supports. A cool car needs a cool phone, right?

My wife got the iPhone the day it came out. Works fine in her '07 MCS w/o nav system. Also works in my 2007 BMW. I use a Treo 680 that works fine in the Mini and BMW.

BMW just posted to their "compatible phone list" the iPhone.

 

Strangely (and I have an 07 MCS, no nav, but with the bluetooth option), my iPhone worked perfectly with my car until last week when I took the car into the shop to have new keys reprogrammed for the car (one of my keys was stolen and I had to get new fobs). Now, the address book doesn't work, and instead of names, I get a string of numbers where the names used to read. Those numbers actually correspond to address book entries because if you press one of them, the phone dials a corresponding name. So now, I have to check with service to see what changes they made to the system. More later...
