Connecting to the armrest connections manually?

Has anyone tried to connect to the +12v and external cllular antenna connections in the armrest without usign the snap in adapter whihc MINI has so convieniently NOT released or updated for ANY phones??

I want to remove all the "crap" in the armrest, and just make a simple plug/adapter to my mobile phone directly that will charge it, and utilize the cars external antenna.

Anyone try it yet?

I say give it up Birdman. I mean do you really need another phone charger? As for the "external antenna" feature I remember buying one of those for a phone long ago. Some gizmo that rolled up in the window. The reception was the same, I sent it back. It's a bunch of hoopla. And they want $140 for the sleeve, huh? I say charge your phone and leave it in your pocket. Save yourself a bunch of headaches.

I agree. Anyway, all that yabbling on your phone takes attention away from your MINI and it will get jealous. Get rid of the distractions and pay attention to you baby.

Uh, not sure if you typed that correctly, but the reason I want to wire into the factory phone connection, is so I DON'T have to carry "another" charger!! And the reason I want to wire directly into the antenna connector is so I DON'T have to spend $140 for a sleeve. Actually, I would pay the $140 for the sleeve, but un-fortunitely, there are none!! So instead, I want to connect it directly.

Those aftermarket window cell antenna's are useless. But the built in ones are ussually GREAT. My Audi has one we utilize, and it makes a HUGE difference on both reception and dropped calls in low signal areas.

But for me the big thing is getting the +12v so I don't have to carry a charger in the mini, or get it out of my bag, or worse, have a cable dangling around the dash area with my phone bob'ing around....

OK, that makes sense then, sorry. Good luck with the wiring. I guess I just don't have the same problems with my phone as you do with yours.

The new version of OS on the Blackjack works great with the mini, syncs addresses.... But, the blackjack is a battery hog, so I really do need a charger in the car. I really hate having chargers dangling from the cig lighter. That's why I bought the Bluetooth prep, so we could use the connectors. I wish mini would make some armrest connectors, that would really solve the problem for alto of folks.

I have one for a Moto Razr. It works fine. May be the only insert available for the Mini. Glad I have the right phone.

I got a bigger capacity battery for my Pearl (OEM is 900mAH, mine is 1200, and they have one that's 2400 too). Might they have one for the Blackjack? I got mine from Seidio.com. They include a battery cover too.

Got the extended batl already. But if you are in a 3G area, it can run down in a hurry.
