What is the best system for an aux or iPod input?

I have on 06 MCS with Nave. Have a cheap little mp3 player that I was using through the AUX input on my 04 MCS (now sold). This car doesn't have the aux input yet. Is there something that offers ipod and aux integration or do I need one or the other?

The DICE and DICE-HD both have an Aux input as well as iPod integration (and HD radio too, for the DICE-HD). You could also just get the OEM Aux input adapter which plugs directly into your head unit (since you have Nav, you'll have to transfer two wires into the Aux input plug, or you'll lose the voice directions).

If you get both the DICE/DICE-HD AND the OEM Aux input, you'll end up with TWO Aux inputs (which might really come in handy!).

You can do one of the following:
  • Install both an OEM iPod adapter and an OEM aux input. They can be used separately.
  • Install a DICE iPod adapter (either with or without the HD radio feature). In addition to iPod interface, it also provides an aux input. You wouldn't need to get an OEM aux input (although you can, and end up with two separate aux inputs as Edge mentioned).
DICE has much better iPod integration than the OEM adapter. However, at the moment it is not fully integrated with Nav (but promised to be coming very soon). DICE can display artist/title information on the Nav and headunit (not possible with the OEM). The problem is that while playing an iPod, DICE will take over the entire Nav screen (the map won't be visible). You can still install DICE in its current version and a firmware update will be made available to fix this problem.

Check this out for a simple, cheap ipod adapter that charges the ipod and plays through the car's stereo: http://www.gadgetuniverse.com/produc...asp?SKU=TA+455

I'd be happy if they just added an option to display on the head unit only... and not on the Nav. I honestly wouldn't mind losing the Nav display of track names... the head unit alone is good enough for that!
