Just a little over a week away!!!

We will be leaving on the 18th. I-81 to lancaster co. PA (8 hours for us) stop for lunch at "The Shady Maple" Smorgesborg . Then up to Mt. Pocono for the night. 19th- taking Delaware-Water Gap scenic drive to route 44. this looks like a scenic route all the way to Plymouth! Plus we get to see the world's largest bug! (We check out roadsideamerica.com for weird roadside attractions!) We'll look for all ya'll's cars at F1 Boston Fri. night!

We're heading up Friday early p.m., picking up our daughter in Providence, RI, then on to Boston for check-in and festivities. We'll be staying with our daughter Fri and Sat nights at her apartment which is only 45 minutes away from the home of the World Series Champion Red Sox.

Hope we can meet.

Anybody heading to Boston through I-90W? I'll be leaving on Friday afternoon from upstate NY (possibly with BF in tow) I'd love to meet some other MINIs on the way.

Flying Finn -- Philly to Boston

We plan to attend the events in Philadelphia Wednesday evening / Thursday morning, then motor to the Mahwah / Warwick events, then onto Boston for the finale.

I take it from the comments here that there is no official MINI sponsored route and that all participants are on their own getting to the destinations, so if any others are tackling the Philly -- Mahwah / Warwick -- Boston combination, or are interested in some serious caravaning back to the Mid-West (we're in Louisville, KY) after Boston is finished, you are welcome to hook up with us.

Happy Motoring !!

They have their daily schedule and some "on the way" suggestions ...
http://blog.minitakesthestates.com/2...ton-rally.html

In '06 they handed out daily "straight" and "alternate" route proposals - but even then they were careful to emphasize that you were on your own, it wasn't any sort of MINI caravan (probably limiting liability that way).

Maybe they'll still hand out routes each morning?

I dont know what to do! i have to work friday and Sat. in Burlington, VT but i already registered for Boston. the only thing i can think of is get out of work on friday, go to F1 go back to VT sat morning and then back down for Sat night and Sunday. does this sound crazy? And will there be anybody from VT or NH going down friday?

Doesn't sound crazy at all, and what better way to participate in MTTS '08 than driving those cool curving roads up and down the mountains of New England a couple of round trips?

An alternative would be to declare a personal or vacation day or two, if you can. Or come down with something Friday that puts you out of action till Sunday, IF you can get away with it.

Hope you can swing what's best for you.

I had a feeling calling in sick was not an option, from the way you'd put it in your posting. Safe motoring, then, on your round-trips.

Does anybody know if you can register AT the event?

We'll be there putting on the autocross event with NASA-Mid Atlantic, but since we're driving the MINI, WTH....

On the MINI-USA website it said "$20 online, $30 onsite." (per person) Need to print the barcode for online.

This money went to the local MINI club's designated charity.

I was given a complete Miami to Boston booklet that includes all stops in between and addresses for all hotels and meets in route to Boston.
And while in Miami I also got a Bicentennial Park to Homestead Motor Speedway route map printed on heavy MINI card stock.

Can you make out the estimated direction the convoy would take once they are entering Connecticut ?
A few of us might either greet or join and are wondering if they take I-95 all the way or go up I-84 or even some secondary roads ?! Thanks !

To All that are Interested in a GREAT Philly to Mahwah Backroad Scenic Run:

To All that are Interested in a GREAT Philly to Mahwah Backroad Scenic Run:

This is Baron (B&D) from NEMINI...........Native of New Joisey....

I know MANY (did I say many?) unbelieveable scenic, twisty, vacant, backroads to take from Philly to Mahwah, NJ - and I promise to get you there ON TIME for the Drive-in Movie Rally.

Look for me at the Philly Museum of Art, early Thursday Morning...(7:30am-ish, leaving whenever there are enough interested.,....)

I will be wearing Orange - to match my HOT ORANGE VERT (license plate "TANG")

I can guarantee this wil be one of the most exciting routes of MTTS08.

PM me for my cell or for any other info! (or email me at omknj@yahoo.com)

-Baron

Ambush at the Gloucester Fisherman Saturday morning!

with apologies for posting to two threads

by the way folks

if you do the drive Saturday morning - up to Gloucester and around Cape Anne by way of Salem Village

you might see a BRG Cooper S, lowered, and sporting a yellow www.MINIPeabody.com decal on the windshield, and a few SCCA badges

that'll be me and my sweetie, looking forward to returning to Dorchester with the caravan and enjoying the festival

i'd love to meet some NAM'ers so please don't be shy! The car is named Gollum, I'm Charlie, and she's Di...
