MTTS 2008!
So did anyone chat with Kevin from MINIUSA at the Dragon? Nice guy, but for a PR person, didn't seem to understand the MINI community or want to understand us. He didn't have much information on MTTS (except for a gazillion postcards) and MINIUSA didn't give him much information for a newbie... they didn't even him set him up with a MINI. I was curious if he even got a ride on the Dragon. My favorite thing was hearing him chat with an owner from St. Louis and suggest that they attend Boston... isn't Sheboygan (Chicago) closer? I think I better check my MTTS 2006 Road Atlas, then again it might have Colorado bordering Florida.
They don't give them any info and can fire them just for dwelling in Apple rumors with customers.
That's a shame.
In MTTS'06 every MINI USA attendee was really in to the brand, event, etc, etc - fun people. Maybe Kevin was just unfortunately new to the brand and "dropped in the deep end"

(No offense to any Goo Goo Dolls fans out there...just not what I expected I guess)He was also good at making a quick exit if anything was mentioned about the location choices or distances.
Hello Mini Friends,
We have paid for Boston. Is any driving up from Miami? We are coming from Eastern PA and was hoping to hook in with a gang that is driving up. Who all is going to Boston..Have they listed places to stay yet?

Information for the Boston venue has already been posted.
It appears they're posting them in chronological order so SoCal will most likely be posted last.

I'm not sure yet if my wife is going to be attending. I'm thinking that if she comes, we'll take the yellow 03, if it's just me, maybe I'll drive the classic.
MINIUSA contacted me before AMVIV this year wanting info on how we run the Boot N Bonnet and asking if they could send someone to check it out. I of course said yes, but she never made it down. Last week I got an email from the woman who was supposed to visit wanting to know if she could call me to ask questions, I said yes and gave her my number. No call yet. I think they are pretty swamped with the whole thing right now.
So, I may be going to Boston, I may not be. I went ahead and shipped my Mini to Baltimore this week (from Bremerhaven), so I'm confident it'll be in Baltimore in time. Just need to figure out if I have the weekend free, or if I have to haul **** somewhere else instead. Paid my fee, got my parkshein, etc.
Anyone else coming in from overseas for this? Roberg shipped his Mini to the Netherlands last year for that gig. Me, it's just dumb luck on the timing of it all....

does make me wonder who's designing this event. If it's a local person they must not read the papers or drive our highways. It will be fun to see how they are going to move 100's (even dozens) of MINI's from downtown Chicago (LPZ) to even an expressway, all of which are under major road work EVERYWHERE and have they have toll's for you out of towners so bring your roll of quarter's. Guess we'll all see together and if they pull it off, I'll be the 1st to step up to the plate of crow.
MINI USA claims to read our postings, I invite anyone from MINI USA to email or call me about this event for local insight.
I'm glad they're doing it this way and I'm looking forward to it.

See ya in Miami!
Fabulous Las Vegas, regularly visited by your favorite 70s and 80s bands.
I am guessing you are the lone Mid-South MINIac going to this. Have you heard if anyone else is going? Tracy had mentioned going to LA at one time, but I haven't heard if she decided to go for sure.
Also the bands are up...and the very much hyped by the MINI rep at MOTD band, the Goo Goo Dolls, are not even playing!
