MTH -- reorganized!

I honestly cant see why you guys in the states are having problems, especially when you have DMH posting a fair bit on here answering questions.
I dont see this happening in other countries, which is rather strange.

You need?

Sorry dude, but I've been real straight forward. I'm not asking you or MTH to attempt to tune my engine, I will do that with my piggyback. Actually the more you want to try to tune my car for me, the bigger the struggle will be. You're correct that my setup is very non-regular. What I'm asking of you guys should be simpler than most customers requests. I just need my stock file adjusted per my very explicit instructions, which is not difficult at all for a competent technician. According to Volker, changing the injector size was one setting and extremely easy for him. Are you still waiting to hear something back from MTH in Germany?

Ryan

But still waiting ... (as I need replacement for a broken MTH-header)

I have to say, i'm a bit disappointed with MTH, as i've sent countless emails to them, and had no reply. My MTH file made zero difference to power. Just better throttle response, and better Traction Control. Will be dynoing the car to see what the AFRs are like. If they are too rich, as i suspect, i will be emailing MTH with some heavy words.
How do you figure?

Zero difference in power? That's odd!
If you choose to dyno, make certain that it is an eddy style with a proper fan setup. A proper fan setup starts at about $5000 and goes up from there. Better yet, test at a track. Also, Mustang's and DynoJet's are rather useless unless you want to see peak hp. Don't try to tune on them -- they can't hold a steady throttle.
FYI--Richer than leaner makes power.
We look forward to your data but, if you are going to all the trouble and expense, make sure you do it right.

But by not maximizing your ECU with custom eddy dyno work you are leaving too much to chance.
I've already told you in an e-mail why I don't want to currently explore a full-standalone. I understand the hurdles of implementing the stock ECU with my setup. Based on your lack of an e-mail reply regarding the standalone ECU, it sounds like you're not interested in entertaining my goals of keeping the features of the stock ECU.
If you, as an MTH representative, are saying MTH can't deliver the goods per my request, that's one thing, I'll move on. Swaying me to NOT buy MTH's product, despite my insistence, is really bad business.
Can you get MTH to deliver what I ask?
Can MTH deliver? Yes

And to suggest that it is bad business to lead someone to a better alternative is untrue. Honesty is good business. And that is why I think, with the heavily modified engine you have, that you would be best off going to a real race shop equipped with an eddy current dyno and proper testing facilities.
*Update: It is now on the front burner.

I, for one, have been happy with MTH. A group of us did our cars a couple of months ago and got our files in a bit over a week and all has been good. One question though. It seems all of us that MTH'd our cars received emails in the last day or so that seem to be a repeat of what we got a couple of months ago. Are these duplicate files? Or some sort of update?

I hope you can understand I'm not some moron blindly tinkering. I only ask MTH to help rewrite my ECU file. I will never hold you or MTH responsible for my setup, as long as MTH delivers exactly as I requested.
I also understand that in a perfectly funded world, a Motec M400 or similar would be an excellent setup for a functionality-reduced race car. The Motec would allow me to perfectly setup my engine, while sacrificing many convenience and safety functions. Me choosing to explore the piggy-back'd stock ECU is a rough attempt to have my cake and eat it too. I understand I won't have ideal control over the engine, and from the beginning I've accepted that. My car is in a very good operational functionality without any of your help. I don't need the MTH to drive my car. I'm only interested in the MTH as a means to a specific facet of my portfolio of goals for this project.
Thanks,
Ryan

As for why; because they said they would for a price premium.
What?
