Mactels and MTH

Has anyone been successful installing MTH using an Intel Mac running windows? I am hoping to get a MacBook sometime this summer and install MTH with it. Just wondering if anyone has tried yet.

yes, the wintel macs can run xp either native via apple's bootcamp
or as a virtual machine via parallel workstation (both in beta currently).

the mac i want hasn't been announced yet, but i've got hopes for the next

Yup, bootcamp will run windows very well. Some speculate better than PCs.

That's right. Writing this now on a MacBook Pro that is also running XP in Parallels (demo version). The Parallels folks are still working out some of the kinks (my USB serial device doesn't work yet) but overall it is very nice and plenty fast. BootCamp is even better.

But don't forget: BootCamp and Parallels are beta so be careful about using them for real work or on real data.

I know this is an older post....

I was playing with my old VW Vag-COM and software on the windows sie using bootcamp and all worked beautifully. Since I assume the OBD functions picked up fine with vag-com, thn it probably would with MTH's loader.

Today I used my MacBook Pro with the MTH CarTune software and cable to download my ECU files. Everything worked flawlessly. The MacBook found the cable and assigned it to Com Port 3. I downloaded the ECU files on the first try.

I'm waiting for my MTH file to come back so I can flash the ECU. I'll report back again once that's done but based one how things worked today I don't anticipate a problem.

My MacBook Pro was booted into Windows XP running on a partition created by Apple's Bootcamp software.
