I saw a License plate this weekend that said it all. MINIWOW

Rochelle, Elmo and I have just returned home from Vegas.

I want to thank all of those who attended this landmark event. You guys made it happened. I would also like to thank all the vendors and sponsors who participated in this years event.

We easily had over 175 MINI's with 50-75 participating in the varous runs.
It was a blast standing on the Tank watching a parade of MINI's in Overton, Nv. on their way to some great twisties in the Valley of Fire.
The Red Rock was spectacular as well.
The Dam Run had 50 Cars. Can't wait to see the pictures of all those MINI's stopping traffic on the Dam
By the time it came to cruise the strip I was totaly exhausted. I arrived just in time to wish you guys well on your way to gridlocking the strip before crashing on my pillow. Heard it was a great run even after losing the photographer for two hours.

Thanks to Dominic for a great event

I would like to have a open forum from those who attended on what they thought, liked, or disliked. Give me the good, the bad and the ugly. Tell about your weekend. Lets hear the stories.

Bill

I just got back from Vegas also. I didn't go to all the events but for the most part this was a cool meet. It was cool seeing all the minis running around vegas. The G2G on Saturday at that park seemed a little unorganized...it was hard to find parking and the location of the gathering just wasn't that good. The prizes that were raffled away and the booths and minis that the vendors brought were all pretty good. If it wasnt so windy and cold it would have been a lot better

I'm moving this here:

Here are some pictures from the MINI Vegas Vacation taken on Friday. Laurie and I had flown into Vegas earlier that week, but sad to say we could not stay for the whole event. We enjoyed meeting everyone and hope to do it again.

Sorry about the quality of the night shots.

I also just returned home from AMVIV. Had a great time, although I was also not able to attend all events. The dinner at the Aladdin was great and the Meet and Greet at Sunset Park was a great chance to meet other enthusiasts and see their rides.

One question....is this destined to become an annual event? I for one am hoping so!!!

Yes. Dominic and I and our respective wives had a late lunch today and were discussing the plans for next year. Ideas were thrown around, stay tuned. He's not heading back to AZ till tuesday, and I don't want to steal his thunder, or start any rumours that might be incorrect, so I'll leave it at that.
I had a blast playing host to all the out-of-towners. I hope that you all had as much fun as I did, that you plan on coming back next year, and that you donated some money to the local economy through the casinos.

Just got back! Pics later. Thanks to Dominic and Becky, Andrew, Earl, and Lee Ann, and anybody else I forgot, for one heckuva good time! Great eats at the Aladin and Sahara, great fun runs, and excellent company! Cruisin' the strip was a blast! The Stardust had set aside a MINI-only area, and it was jammed with MINIs! Altho the Park GTG was a tad windy, it was way cool to meet Penn Jillete, from Penn & Teller, and se his "Stripper Pink" colored MINI! Then the run to Hoover Dam today was a wonderful send-off! Too much to set down here right now, so more to come! Thanks, again, everybody!

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

I was the lost photographer and i actually wasn't lost i was walking the strip back to the stardust. Regardless, I had a great time, and i'm back at work this morning. (yes 6 am az time). Oh yea, i also helped sell T-shirts, me and ~sugar~ were handing them out along with Earl, who had the shirts made.

Comment about the Meet and Greet. We arrived early and were trying to setup, we were supposed to have a parking lot reserved just for us mini's. But the park made a reservation for the grass area not the parking lot. Earl or Mark might have more info on this.

I have alot of pictures, and 5 or 6 videos from the strip cruise. I will post this all later today.

Thank you again to Dominic for organizing this, and thank you to all the vendors.

Thanks to you and sugar for the help with the shirts. It was great of you to step up and help out like that.

The parking lot was a snafoo with the city/parks department. We learned a lot from this FIRST AMVIV and I think other events of this kind will go smoother.

Personally I HAD A GREAT TIME !!!!!

One of the best parts was at the park when someone (I couldn't see who) asked who got the ticket for the fastest speed coming to Vegas - only two people got tickets. THEN someone said, "Who was speeding on the way?" and about 150 hands went in the air. I would like a photo of that if anyone got one.

thanks to EVERYONE, venders, organizers, and ATTENDEES.

Earl

Come back in June even if nothing is organized. The local club will welcome you, and the casinos will always be open!

A big THANK YOU to Dominic and all those who helped to make this a great event. The runs were great even though the directions were a bit confusing - the (2) runs I went on were great fun and scenery at both parks was fantastic.
The park was a little too windy and cold - but the raffel was unbelivable. The vendors really went overboard.
The one thing I would change is the registration ... leave it open longer for those of us who had to work at least a half day and then drive 8-hours. I fortunately met someone in the parking lot and they showed me a schedule for Sat.
If made into an annual event I would definetly attend.
Good food, Good fun, Good people, Good God so many MINI's!

ps: thanks to the DS/B MCS (Heart ZTURNZ) that met up with me just before I-5. The trip home was much more enjoyable with you paving the way for me.

105 in a 65

Impressive Mike.... just think if you had been in your buggy... 135 in a 65 would have been more in line.

Sorry about the ticket.

Now what bigger brakes?
