MITM4 Lodging and Roommates Thread
Post your requests for roommates and questions regarding lodging here. We will gladly answer them. Note that at the www.CopperColorado.com site there is a SUMMER map of the entire Copper Village including all lodging options and buildings. But don't do your lodging there. Call the Group Desk toll free at 866-837-2996, give them code " 3GD8K0" and the name "MINIs in the Mountains" and they will get you all fixed up.
It is a big area which can be walked, but frankly, most of us choose to drive the MINIs back and forth. It is flat at Copper (well, you will not notice the elevation change) but you are at elevation so you will notice the lack of Oxygen in the air.

Indeed there are
a wide variety, perhaps 13 or 14 different types of lodging that we have blocked. We do not quote rates here so you will need to contact Copper direct to do that. Call toll free to 866-837-2996, give them the group name "MINIs in the Mountains" and the Group Code " 3GD8K0 " with the last digit being a zero. Let them know you are part of the MINI group in August. They have a group # for us already as we have finalized the contract. If they feign ignorance, ask for supervisor Chynna and she has her stuff together. You will book your lodging thru them, not us. You can choose East Village, Centre Village, or elsewhere and prices and arrangements change.

I might save up and come to this! I have always dreamed of going to a major Mini event. I got my Cooper in October so this might be my first! Although i might have to skip spring break and use the money toward this! lol.
If you do, and we think you will have a good time
we can put you in touch with some of the other TX folks so that you can caravan up.
Having done it last month, it is only a quick 12 hrs from the N side of Metro Dallas to Denver, then only 1.5 hrs further into the Mountains.
Keep an eye on the thread and the event site at www.MINIsintheMountains.com
Thanks,
Jonathan

Since we are not in the lodging business...
you will get specific prices for the typr of unit you choose, and the location, when you call the number below. There are 13-14 options, arguably a lot, and prices vary wildly depending on the size.
In the past what we have found MOST economical is the 2BR Condo in the Village. It has 2 private Bedrooms, one with King and the other with 2 doubles. Then, it has couches. It has 3 full bathrooms and a kitchen, plus a balcony. 4 or 5 peeps in a unit like this works quite well.
We also find that overpaying for nice lodging makes no sense. Most of us spend little time there anyway....since our agendas run from 8 am to 10 pm generally.
Please do call the desk below, have the Copper Map in hand, and they will help you with your preference.

My Rate: $558 for four nights
Thanks for all the good info..... I'm going to be driving in from the Chicago area and I'm really looking forward to it.....
I used the codes, etc. provided and they put me into a mini suite at Telemark Lodge. They didn't ask where I wanted to be, and I didn't think to ask (I assume it really doesn't matter since we won't be there much).
The 4 night cost was $558. This was for a Queen Murphy bed and a bunk bed (there may be a couch too, but they couldn't promise). That was the TOTAL cost (taxes, etc.). The non-suite version was only a few dollars less, so the upgrade was well worth it.
YMMV; I'll be sure to check here to see if I did well

Is there any camping allowed? Like any campgrounds near by. I assume that it would be a good time of year to camp. If not, I think I will just sleep in my car. Unless someone has a couch to spare
It's typically not hard to find places in Colorado to "car camp"... A wooded parking spot next to a place to put up a tent and build a fire. I know there are plenty about, but I don't have specifics near Copper Mountain.... They typically have restrooms to serve the area...
There is camping and we will post
more info. For now, please look here first as this is what is closest to the resort:
JPS
- www.TownofDillon.com (and click on camping) Dillon is one of 3 towns very close to Copper and it is lakeside - Dillon Reservoir - but out here there are restrictions. Check it out.
- www.TownofFrisco.com (and click on parks and facilities) Frisco is one of 3 towns close to Copper and it too is lakeside. And there are restrictions.
- We strongly recommend reservations as there are limited spots.

Woot! Just made my reservation. Got the same deal as kbleicher. It was very helpful having the map in front of me when I called -- thanks for posting it, and for setting all this up. My first major MINI event! So excited!
