Looks very nice, and agree it's probably pretty low risk if you do a PPI on site.
The only thing that gave me pause, however, is the seller's attitude. "I’m very perfectionist, and I cannot find one single thing that bugs me about this car. I do not care if it sells or not."
I don't usually put in the time and effort required to sell a car if "I don't care if it sells or not." He/she will probably want you to flash him $8900 in cash before he'll let you test drive it too. Might be a real treat to deal with. I hope I'm wrong.

And if he's such a perfectionist why doesn't he have that front JCW badge in the correct spot?? Maybe he should try a little harder to find something that bugs him about it!
The 2006 BRG checker edition in San Diego is still available BTW... Been in contact with the seller weekly. He just had a PPI done for a prospective buyer; it revealed just the usual stuff like cooling system refresh, brake fluid refresh, suspension refresh, power steering hoses weeping, etc...
I still have a possible buyer locally for my royal grey JCW, but no cash in hand yet. Still somewhat torn on letting it go anyway!
Hi!,im Stuart ...I put a deposit on the sidewalk jcw yesterday ...it’s in Sunnyvale California (40 minutes outside of San Fran)...I have asked owner for a copy of title and some additional photos early today and have yet to hear from seller so I’m somewhat concerned...anyone livevnear here to put some eyes on this car tommorow ,,,leave a pm or better yet email me at simchanova@aol.com ,thanks all
I left a $200 deposit on jcw mini in Sunnyvale yesterday ...I had asked seller to text me a copy of title early this morning...had not heard from him all day (12 hours) until now-he sold the car to someone else...call me old fashioned but I always thought a deposit secures a car...my guess is that greed set in and he was offered more money...people are *******s at times...

Ouch...that’s a dirt bag move. The one I bought in Denver, pulled the ad down from CL soon as I wired a $200 deposit, pending a PPI. Of course an older guy with some morals.

Same with mine - seller pulled it off FB as soon as we’d agreed a deal . . before I’d even paid a deposit
This was my response to him...I’m VERY upset as I’d been looking for a car like that awhile...it’s was Uber rare with all those options ,especially a JCWand low mileage...he’s not a person of character...

I viewed that CL ad soon after posted here and was impressed with apparent condition and equipment. Asking price seemed too low. Had I been closer, I'd likely have moved on it even though I'm not shopping for an R52 (or any Cabrio) but figured others more local would do likewise plus unlikely the seller would "participate" with 3rd party transport company. At least for you, not a scam and your modest deposit is secure. Another case of "live and learn". Time to move on and keep looking...
Hang out on this thread for a month or two. Are you particularly looking for an R52 JCW. I think you’ll see a flurry of sellers through spring early summer.
