HI Guys,
I have for sale my '06 MINI Cooper GP. My wife and I are expecting our first child at the end of October which has me thinking about replacing the GP with something that will fit 3 people! If you don't know the car, it was a limited production (2000 worldwide, 415 in the US) released in 2006 as the last hurrah of the supercharged tri-tec engine. The GP had a unique paint color scheme, lighter rear suspension parts, no backseat, aero kit, carbon fiber rear spoiler, larger intercooler, and a slightly higher HP output rating compared to JCW models. All 2000 GP units were numbered on the roof and on the dash. This one is number 1292. The first owner purchased the car (sight unseen as a pre-order which is how they were all sold) in Colorado and used it as a daily driver. He took exceptionally good care of the car as evidenced by the condition. He supplied me with a 3-ring binder full of all service records. A little over two years ago, I bought the car sight unseen and had it shipped to me in Maine. Since then it has been a fair-weather car only occasionally seeing rain, and never driven in snow/ salty conditions. I have a heated garage and indoor cover on the car during the off season.
Since I purchased the car, I have had the following performance modifications:
ENGINE:
RMW big valve head
RMW street camshaft
RMW 450cc injectors
RMW street header
WAY motorworks 16% S/C Pulley
Mini Madness CAI
RMW remote dyno tune by JAN yielded 240 WHP on Mustang dyno
The car pulls strong all the way to redline and the dyno graph looks like a 45 degree angle, idles like stock, NO driveability issues whatsoever
Suspension: RMW spec'd JRZ true double adjustable coilovers with SWIFT springs, camber/ caster plates
H&R rear swaybar
Handlling is amazing
Wheels: original 18" GP wheels (in storage since I owned the car)
ENKEI 17" PF01 black (pictured) w/ pilot supersports (5kmi)
16" OZ superleggara (in storage since I owned the car)
Interior: stock seating
2 sets of GP floormats
Ian Cull's circuit for double-tap windows up
hard wired to top of windshield for V1 (V1 stays with me)
Exterior: Black honeycomb mesh grill
Blacked out headlights
Clear Bra on Nose since new
I am looking for something AWD, turbo, and with four doors, so I may entertain trades (s4 avant, forester xt/ sti conversion, sti hatchback)
I do owe some money to the bank, so I can either pay it off before or after the sale depending on timing.
-the last pic is with the stock wheels and pre-coilovers
Repair update: I dropped the car off at the mechanic last week and asked them to pull the nose off the car to change the cam sensor o-ring. Turns out, the o-ring was fine. the basepan had a slight leak, so they dropped the subframe and replaced it. While the nose was off, they replaced the idler pulley and belt. They checked the lower control arm bushings and said they did not need replacing. Car needs nothing but a new home.

Beautiful car. I wish you were closer! I'm contemplating swapping out my 2012 Golf R for an early GP as I loved my R53.
Take a look at the Golf R as an option. I've had two MINIs prior to it. It's a hoot, although it's not a MINI.

Any regrets getting rid of your r53?
Of course I would assist with shipping, as in , meet with the shipper to release the car, or pick up a buyer at the airport, etc.
