Beautiful example of a rather rare breed of the R53 Cooper S line, this is the "Dinan" model with various well-spec'd upgrades from the Dinan performance company. Not too many of these out there any more, especially in this condition— adult-owned, never raced, tracked, smoked in, etc. 38000 original miles. Pepper white body, black top, no sunroof— no dings or scratches. Passenger side wheels have a bit of curb rash unfortunately. Panther black interior with another rare feature: column mounted gauges for speedo and tach rather than in center dash (large center gauge is fuel, temp, etc.) AC, cold weather package, factory installed MINI driving lights, MINI toolkit, etc all there, all working, no problems. Harmon Kardon stereo with ipod cable. Strut towers show no mushrooming. This is my baby, my second car... but I have to tighten things up a bit and can't afford to keep her. (I would like to see her again though... so would like to "share" her with a careful owner in the NAM family.)

Just curious: was the "Dinan" model (like you have) a factory option? Or a Dinan package? (At least I'm giving you a bump for some info )

@submitaweasel good question; I don't believe these were "factory" but were arranged with certain BMW/MINI dealers to be installed. So the factory was well-aware of them and still carried a factory warranty but weren't built "at" the factory, if that helps.

 

Is this the Dinan S I always used to see parked in front of the bike shop on NE Sandy?

 

If I remember correctly there were several different packages available from Dinan. Would you please elaborate on what additional items from Dinan are on your car.

Not sure; I've only owned it about a year, and never parked it over there. (Bike Gallery?)

 

The only items I can verify are the exhaust, rear badge, strut brace and air box. I dont have original paperwork so cant be sure about the chip, pulley or suspension.

The exhaust pops are worth it alone (Kidding. Kind of.)
