It's the kind of car that most people wouldn't want to own, but for the people who do, that's a steal. If you can afford to wait for the right buyer (and it sounds like you can), you'll probably get your price.
I can afford to wait, but the sun is coming out here in Austin and I can't stand this roof over my head.
Amazing Mini! Would buy it if i could.

Well, I found a buyer for the MINI and bought a fully insurable trike for a good price and its being delivered tomorrow. And then I just found out that the buyer got home from college and his parents had a new MINI sitting in his driveway as a gift, so he's obviously not buying it anymore. What kind of luck is that. Well its good luck for someone else I guess. Lowering the price again.
Bump for a great car.
Still sorry I didn't get a chance to experience it up close and in person when we tried to meet up last summer at the Champ Car races in Portland.
Hope Austin is treating you well.

Thanks. Austin is good. I still can't decide what less expensive yet eccentric vehicle will replace MINITOR. I would hate to be boring and get something normal. When I finally decide I will probably list MINITOR on ebay and see how that goes.
im assuming you bought the car the way it is and that there is no stock bumper laying around in your garage?
also, what "high costs" are you speaking of and what happened to the original motor?

Sorry, no stock bumper. By high costs I was mostly referring to my monthly car payment. It was fine when I had a pretty good paying job, but I moved and took a much lower paying (but much more fun) position and it is taking a bigger chunk out of my monthly pay.
Honestly, most of the time I am in my car since my move is commuting, and don't really feel that I need such a nice sporty car to commute. I bought a trike which is even nicer on the gas and even more fun to drive and now use it as my daily driver, so I plan on buying an inexpensive super reliable automatic boring car as a second vehicle for rainy day commuting. My wife has an SUV, so my transportation needs should be covered.
My shop said that it looked like a "random engine failure" whatever that means. It was up to date on oil changes and had no signs of problems and just went dead one day. It was replaced with a newer engine from a MIN that had 23K miles on it at the time, so the engine should have much more life in it now. It actually feels a bit peppier with the new engine, but that could just be in my head.

I mean that I don't like having a roof because I want to be in the hot sun.
