This is a tough ad for me to write, as I'm quite fond of my 2002 MCS. I bought it in March 2007 with 32k miles. Since then I have only added another 8k miles to the odometer (just passed 40k on 1/10/08). The only maintenance the car has required while I've owned it is replacement of the air filter (currently has an Alta foam filter), cabin filter, oil/filter change, and charging the A/C. I do have partial maintenance records from the previous owner as well. It was serviced last winter by Crevier Mini before I purchased it.

Factory options are: Aero Kit, 17" R90 wheels (with new Kumho AST tires as of 10/07), blue on black leather, sunroof, xenon, DSC, on-board computer, multi-function steering wheel, rally lights, and MINI car cover. Attached to the center console is an adjustable cell phone holder that also works great for an i-pod.

There are a few minor cosmetic flaws that are to be expected with a car of this age including minor rock chips on the front bumper/hood, a few small scratches, one interior scuff on the driver's seat. Overall it is in great condition. I have been planning on replacing the front brake pads/rotors in the next month as they are nearing the end of their life.

Thought I should also mention that I'm offering the car for $500 more elsewhere as I'd prefer to see it go to a NAM member.

 

I've decided to offer the MCS as is at a reduced price until December 1st. At that point I will be replacing brake pads/rotors as well as taking it in for a clean bill of health, replacing fluids, tune-up, etc. Here's your chance to get it for a little bit of a discount and put on your choice of brake components, fluids, etc.


Mileage just passed 39k as well.

 

New to this forum! Not yet an MCS owner, BUT LOOKING for one! Why an A/C charge? Is it not cooling or just routine maintenance on the A/C system?

Not planning on 'upgrading' per se, just replacing with OEM rotors and aftermarket pads to eliminate brake dust. If the car is still available when you are in a position to buy and are interested, let me know... this post will be updated until the car sells.

 

Sounds good. However I wish to see pictures of the interiors, I'm mostly interested in the color and the damage. Shouldn't be a problem, I just want to see it.

Did you end up getting the pads and rotors replaced in December as you had planned? I'm still saving up and hope to have enough to start shopping seriously in the next few months. If the car is still available then I might be interested, since I'm only 400 miles south east of you. In the meantime, best of luck with the sale

 

Hadn't replaced them yet as I had some interest from people who were wanting to choose their own components. Seriously starting to consider trading it in though as our need for a 4-door vehicle has become more urgent. I would much rather see it go to someone on NAM! Make me an offer I can't refuse!!

Poor weather has prevented me from taking new pictures. Next week is supposed to clear up, so I should be able to get some new ones.
