EURO CAR MEET SATURDAY!!!!!
EURO CAR MEET SATURDAY!!!!!
Hey every one,
There is a Euro car meet that i know of on Saturday morning at the dave and busters off of I-25 and colorado starting at 11:30am. A buddy of mine is really big in to Volvos, and he invited me, and I'm pretty sure that it would be more then cool if any other MINI's want to come. There are every thing from Volkswagens, Audi's, BMW's, and of course my buddy's Volvo club is going. If your interested let me know (Via private message) and i give you some more info...

GREAT TIME!!!!
This event is a must do for MINI5280. There were so many cars, and it really was a car lovers event. The people are really nice, great cars and a good way to start off the day. Metrodubs (organizers) really would like for the MINI clubs to show up. I will have more info at the meeting on the 8th..
i know how you feel....i spent all day sunday detailing the mini...im shocked it took so long because it's such a small car...

Sounds like it would have been fun to visit with the other folks. Give us a little more notice next time Tommy and I'll see what I can do to stop by.
On the other hand if either of you are free next weekend my MINI could use a detailing.

funny funny!! detailing is kind of depressing actually..find new scratches and dents and yeah..i was kind of bummed when i saw all the new scratches from the sand on the road...and as far as the Euro meet, they always start at 11:30 so i was thinking that we could all meet up some place and then drive together to the meet...when i was talking to eric (metrodubs organizer) he said that they like to change up the location..but he sounded pretty excited to finely talk to some one with the MINI's. I really hope we can get involved with this, because the people are all really cool, there are a lot of really awesome cars, the only thing missing is our wonderful MINI's. Its really cool to see the other cars, and see all of the different applications at work.
How often do these guys meet Tommy? Is it like a weekly, monthly, quarterly thing?
Reason I ask is because if there's nothing else going on I was thinking about trying to set up a saturday lunch run for no particular reason.
If not this saturday, maybe next one or the one after; heck sundays for that matter. Just something to get us out and driving.
If there's interest I can get some details together, but so far I was thinking pretty casual; food then driving into the hills.

When I was talking to Eric he told me that it was a monthly thing. I sent him an e-mail to see when the next one is too.
I think a Saturday or Sunday lunch run sounds like a good idea.
A few weeks ago I went on a drive through Boulder and ended up funding a really fun road called sugar loaf hill. Its not to long of a drive, only about a mile to a mile and a half but its really fun and I'm sure we could find some were else to drive in that area. What are your thoughts?

Y'all have fun up there
We have finally reached our destination (well, within 50 miles) for the Great Denver to Dragon Caravan III and RoadFood Tour. Might as well have called it a "RoadKill" tour with as many carcasses as we have seen. Easily in the multi-hundreds so far, with the count of at least 6 deer, multiple dogs, many many kitty cats and thousands of possum, rabbit, birds, raccoon, and other varmints. Wow.
Have done the MidAmerica Motorworks museum, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, the Colonel Sanders Fried Chicken Museum and the Corvette Factory in Bowling Green, KY.
Among our group are myself, Whitlow and Eleanor, Rick, Jim Zyamfier, Dan Huebener (StL MINIs) and Intercoolest (Mike) and his son (Intercoolest Jr.), and tomorrow we expect to see Tim (GP1292). We did tons and tons of roads so far - among the most fun in Brown County, IN and in SE Kentucky between Bowling Green and Corbin.
Y'all be good. Make plans to join us next year. Which by the way will be a different route - the 'Southern Hospitality Trip of Denver to Dragon Caravan IV".
See ya. BTW, look up "Fontana Dam" on Google Maps, that is where we are. Nearest town? Robbinsville, N.C.

Good Morning Shelley!
Tired, very tired.....late night late....
Today, off to Highlands, NC to see the waterfalls. Down by the GA border.
Yesterday, we headed off with a friend from STL and Mike and Brian from 5240 (Mike lives in Colo Springs) for Clemson, SC. They had had trouble with it but along the way, their PS Power Steering pump gave out entirely. After a few calls...off to the dealer (not on our route) in Greenville, SC to get a new one installed.
Well, it was a Schomp type deal. They understood the problem, got these guys in, got it fixed, got em on the road, and they made it back for dinner.
Yes, there is a MINI God out there and thankfully, dealers other than Ralph Schomp MINI who will take care of a guy in need.
Thanks to our dealer network. Without them....who knows?
