I wasn't getting a response out of the local hotel Riverside, so I changed it over to who gave us the better group rate first.
Call the number above and let them know you're with MUTA and they'll get you a double queen room at $69.00 a night. You must call by next Wed to get the rate.
Thanks guys,
email me if you have any questions.

Ok, guys. I'm here to give you guys an update on what's going on with MUTA in about a week. Ramada didn't get that many reservations, maybe 2....tops. I think a lot of people have been interested in the in-town campsites in Moab. Quite a few have yet to book a hotel room. Since this is the case, we're wondering how many people would prefer to go to one campsite. This would have running water with bathrooms and showers. We would also have a few firepits that we could have a fire at for the 2 nights that we're there. I've got 2 campgrounds in mind that I've already contacted that we could get for around $20 a night per each tent slot. Not bad eh? Let me know what you guys think. There isn't much time and I will need to make a decision by the weekend!!! So let me know!!
We've got some great runs planned out for you all. There will be about 6 total, most averaging about 3 hour round trip. 2 will be all day rides, but could still be a lot of fun.

Also, to give eveyone a better idea of what is planned for this feeler weekend, I've put down a list of current routes we have planned out. Most of which are awesome, and should only take a half day each. That way, you should get 2 runs a day in, unless of course people want to hike or bike around.
Run 1 - La Sal Mountain Loop - 3-4 hours
Run 2 - Colorado Riverway Scenic Byway - 1.5-2 hours
Run 3 - Dead Horse Point State Park - 2.5-3 hours
Run 4 - Arches National Park - 2 hours, unless you feel like short hikes.
Run 5 - Island in the Sky - 3-4 hours
Run 6 - Needles Overlook - 3-4 hours
We will also try to plan one or two of these for a early morning sunrise and evening sunset.
There are a couple other runs I was thinking we could do, but they would take a VERY long time and we might want to do that for the first annual MUTA next year. One of which would be the Bullfrog, Lake Powell ferry.

As of right now we have a grand total of 9 Mini's from Salt Lake and I believe a one or two from NM and possibly the same from Sin City. Any of you CO folk going to make it out???

Nobody from CO is coming? Bummer.
Oh well, if you can make it, we're meeting at the Ramada Inn in Moab on Saturday morning at 9:00 for the first run.
Cheers

I cannot speak for the others
but as for me, I was planning to be there. Now I am not. Two factors: The big boss is coming to town on Monday, and I own the presentation and agenda on Tuesday. My weekend will be spent, in part, preparing for this.
As you know, our weather has been good lately (some call it bad) with plenty of snow and highway delays. I spent 2 days in Steamboat last weekend, hoping for the soccer tournament we planned on, only to get snowed out. We are rescheduled now for Nov 5 and have to go back. 3 weekends in a row to the Mountains (that is about a 3.5 hr trip) is too much for me to plan on. Things have to get done down here in the flatlands.
I am guessing that you have also lost some locals due to the MINI5280 event this weekend here also. The club has planned it annual Halloween outing and it draws lots of pp. That is just bad timing, since they do this around Halloween each year.
And I am not sure how many pp are into camping. I am not, my wife only condo-camps, and I don't know about the others.
There may still be some that shows. There is always the last minute crowd.
Thanks for organizing. I think it is a good event in a great location. Looking forward to next year.

Well, we had 2 people show up from CO to add to our group from UT. Thanks guys for coming out. This recieved a big thumbs up for the green light of MUTA 2007. Plan on Oct and I think you'll all be very surprised if you've never been to southern Utah. We'll have a better report for you all tomorrow. But, for now, we have a few pics to show.
