8th Annual Children's Hospital Run - "Occupy Children's"

Yes, it is the time of year for Giving. This year we will hold the 8th Annual Children's Hosptial Run for Charity. This is the time of the year when MINI5280 Members and friends collect gifts and toys for the less fortunate children who are in the hospital and being treated.

Please mark your calendar as follows:

> Sunday, November 27th
> Meetups will be North and South as before
> Arrive at Children's at 11 am
> Bring unwrapped, original toys for kids ages 3 to 13
> Your children, unfortunately, will have to stay in the lobby of the hospital (and will not get a tour) due to safety (health) rules. This is normal.

Watch this space for more information and a flyer which you can post at work with a box to collect from others. As always, we will park our MINIs right in front of The Children's Hospital for pictures.

"Occupy Children's" is our theme. Remember, we are the 1/2 of 1% who drive small, fuel efficient, high fun factor MINIs.

Jonathan

Thanks J for getting this setup and a date out to the 5280 folks.

Always a good way to bring a little cheer to kids having some rough times.

Don

Hopefully we can get a count of possibles via the calendar.

Well, I am out of practice and getting old

because for the life of me, the system will not let me delete the event. Says I do not have authority.

So I added a new event, same day.

Feel free to sign up there. I don't have Admin any more so I cannot delete myself.

Shame.

Is it okay to just stop by and drop off a gift, without registering? I can't be real sure of things, on that date.

Kathy, I think if you want too drop off something at Children's that will be fine. Let them know your a MINI5280 person.

Otherwise, if you need someone to deliver for you and they are near you, perhaps you could drop with them. Not sure where your located.

I am in the general Louisville area, so could deliver if you wish.

Don,
Thanks so much for the offer. As things look now, I'll most likely be there.

You can handle it a number of ways

Join us for the ride, drop it off then

Drop it off at another time

Post here, one of us will come get your donation

Post here, drop it off to one of us and we will take it to Children's for you

It is entirely up to you, just let us know. The community will take care of you.

Hmmm - I'll see if anyone from work can rustle up some toys. We just our annual harvest Run Collection so it may be slim. Is there another toy run for December?

My plan is to be at the North Children's at around 10:10, so if anyone want to join me for the motor over to Children's Hospital, please meet me. Will plan on leaving 10:20-25 or so.

Hwy7 and I25, east of Lafayette.

Don

Anyone?

Notice to Attendees

I talked to Children's today. There is quite a bit of construction going on down there this year, and other doors normally open are now not. So there is more traffic out front than before. Therefore, they are asking us NOT to park in front of the hospital or on the side road. Rather, they suggest we use the TOP level of the parking structure as our alternative.

Thanks for cooperating. Tours of non-patient care area will be available to you as in the past.

Jonathan

Do you mean Down South as in Colorado Springs?

Or Down South as in south side of Denver?

Meetup in Denver at Kimmer Drive and Yosemite. Children's Hospital Lone Tree.

See you there.

Nicely done. CHR!

What a wonderful day, great turnout, lots of smiling face, clean MINIs, lots of gifts for the kids at Children's.

Thank you all for coming out and thank you Jonathan for pulling another great toy drive together.

It was nice seeing new faces, meeting folks and seeing what a great club MINI5280 can be giving from the heart.

Great to see lots of folks coming up from Colorado Springs and up in Longmont, the rest of us are almost local in comparison. lol

Thanks to Chris S from PES and Devin S from Schomp coming and showing how our local shops and dealers support our club on a personal and company basis.

I will be updating this post with a link to my pictures taken today, I came down with the North MINI folks and the South MINI folks had a huge group.

Try this LINK to all my pictures, feel free to right click and save for personal usage. Also, download for any club newsletter.

I saw lots of pictures being taken, so folks post up your pictures or a link if you want to share.

A good mix of MINIs and people.

Don

One picture for the thread:

All of us taken by a very nice Lady going into Children's Hospital North.... Thank you again!
