Came out of Taco Bell in Monument this afternoon to find this:





I couldn't even open my door to the first detent to get in. And, yeah, you can see there were plenty of open spots further to the west. Fortunately, no door dings or anything, but it was still annoying.

 

That is actually pretty funny! The firetruck driver is most likely a Mini fan, or drawn near by the similar color combination! Made for a good photo!

They saw an unprotected and rather vulnerable MINI with blinders on and the Rescue Truck swooped in to protect your left.....Good show !

My guess the drive up lane was too small or they hoped to blend in with the only other red vehicle in the lot while they played hookie.

 

I'm nervous about errant shopping carts rolling my way...little did I realize Lil' Chili was a fire apparatus (apparently, they're not trucks anymore...kinda like snow mobilies turned into snow machines, I guess!) magnet!

 

Funny. I always park next to MINIs in the lot when I see them. I bet the fire truck driver is a MINI owner.

 

This is why I ordered my MINI with the sunroof option.

 

needs to start at the station where that truck is based.

I don't think they'll be too happy to see MINIs anytime soon. I heard from their Chief and, unfortunately, his course of action is to have the driver re-take their driving qualification course again. I was hoping they'd just have an internal talk to spread awareness of where/how they're parking, but apparently yesterday's deal was a violation of their regulations. I feel bad about the punitive action, but I'd feel worse had they had to scramble out of the parking lot and damaged Chili (or another car in the future) because of the way they park...

 

Actually might be good for the driver to have a refresher, I was thinking it was a bit of MINI envy.

Trust me, after having one of our parked vehicles (luckily not the MINI!!) hit by a firetruck and having to deal with our city's claims process, you shouldn't feel too bad!

He must have been the one driving the fire truck when it violated Lil' Chili's MINI space.

He got away with it for a year but justice prevailed.

 

I heard he was busted by four teenagers and a Great Dane driving around in a green van.
