North Dyno day

Is there any interest in a north Dyno day? A friend of mine took his Foose Mustang to Engle Automotive to try out their Dyno and he was impressed.
Engle has it setup to run like a drag strip with a Christmas tree and all. Normally it is $100 for 3 runs, but if we get enough MINIs then the owner said he might be able to get it down to $50 a MINI, but only on a Friday as he is closed on the weekends. Other nice things of this shop is it is super accurate. The Cops get their cars done here as it is the only shop in Northern Colorado certified with the state.
Here are some sample numbers from my friends Mustang
RWHP - 462.0
Torque - 427.2 ft-lbs.
Top speed - 152 mph

Info for the shop:
Engle Automotive
808 North Denver Avenue
Loveland, CO 80537
970-635-9760

I would like to do this in September, no time this summer for now.

But set something up with all the folks, I will watch the results. Good to have another dyno alternative.

Sounds good, what type of dyno?

Don

I have not heard back directly from the owner yet, but as soon as I have more info I will post.

**Update**
Looking around on other forums, it looks like the Engle Dyno is a Mustang that was new in 2008, but that is all I can find.

Maybe instead of Engle, we should have Rick set something up with Tobz, I see from the Mustang Dyno website, that his is a MD500 AWD dyno, which would be perfect for any MINI. I am guessing that Engle is a AWD since he does Diesels.

Is this strictly a "dyno" or are you going to be doing any tuning off of it as well?

If we do Engle, then I doubt we would be doing any tuning at all. If We get Rick to get Tobz in Longmont to do it, then there might be a possibility of some tuning.

I'd be interested in doing it. I just need some lead time to set aside the date.

Cheers,
Tom

I would be able to set up a day with TOBZ, just for use of the dyno. His normal rate is $70.00 for the 3 pulls. Only problem is that the dyno in his shop is not hooked into a server, so no dyno sheets other than printouts (if the printer works). Just fair warning though, his mustang dyno reads on average 15% LOWER than the dynojet at MAC. I will pay him the rest of what I owe for the last FUBAR tune that he did, and talk to him about reserving a day, when I get home next week.

Rick I did not know your SC problem was the result of Tobz tune, how about I go with Engle then, taking Tobz out of the picture. I will approach him for sometime in Sept. That will give him time to reserve some space and us get MINIs in line. The Engle setup is State Certified so it should be accurate, and he has a Christmas tree so we can get times too.

Well Rich, the S/C failure wasn't Tobz fault it would of gone anyhow. However I do think he should of cought the isue earlyer, according to the logs that night the car was consistantly loosing boost, and the big a** boost gauge shulda been a hint. Not to mention that I successfully tuned the car myself better than he did with less pulls and not breaking anything. He is still the go to guy if you have an Evo or STi but MINIs are beond his thinking capibilities, and he is not willing to learn the ECU. It all worked out in the end though, and now I am getting more and more into tuning.

We where trying to get Jan out in the fall, but somebody else is going to need to set it up. I doubt he would even make the trip if he knew I was going to be there (and I won't be for an RMW tune party) I'm not going into details about it, but its best if I leave it alone all togeather.

Agreed, I am dieing to see how much of a gain I got with the new hardware. I was kinda hoping for a dynojet though, up north PFI has a good one and MAC also has a good one in parker.

Engle's is supposed to be the most accurate up North and is the only North State Certified Dyno.
