Wish I could # someone for this...ARGH

Driving on the highway, up to the Mini in Loveland ground breaking, on Mini's birthday no doubt. Four of the five cars ahead of me miss the 18 wheeler re-tread laying in the road...who doesn't miss it? The frickin lady in front of me. She coils it up and tosses it 10 feet in the air. The arc of the flying re-tread lands it right on the passenger front headlamp.

The hood is farked up bad, so bad it does not line up with the fender by the side scuttle, that back hood corner points out to the side almost, possibly new hood(stripes, clear bra, headlight chrome, etc)

The bumper is scratched up, fixable, black trim needs to be replaced

The Arch needs to be replaced

Side marker in arch broken

Passenger door took a shot and will have to be fix about midway down under mirror.

Cracked my windshield, more

$1000 deductible lessen learned. I got a $4,000(hood) and $2500(no hood) estimate so far.

Sorry to hear about your mishap I know how you feel, sometimes you just want to let loose on someone.. If your going to fix it take the new hood, your going to pay your grand either way, might as well have new parts.

Well this sucks. All I wanted to do was hear the new exhaust.

Next time.... So you going to go custom, black out or CF everything?

Make the lemons into lemonade.

Sorry the 'gator' got you.

I wish on the JCW front. We'll see. An Aero kit would be so sweet, and since they have to mix up the paint anyway....

skip the new windshield(retail prices anyway)
cheap fix the hood
fix the door
new arch with lens
JCW front w/paint
JCW rockers w/paint

hmmm that should be more than 3k

JohnJon:

From someone in the business, my advice is: since your total out-of-pocket expense is capped at your deductible regardless of how much the repair bill comes out to, insist with your insurer to select the very best body shop with a great quality reputation to do the repairs. The insurer may hem and haw, but they will give in.

A good body shop will have a good relationship with insurers, and can convince them of the level of charges.
