3. Motor to HPR for some parade laps at noon

JPS, all...

It is a Rocky Mountain Vintage race weekend. I am working the deal to do lunch time parade laps.

I normally work a corner all day Sat/Sun, but I will take it off to have breakfast with the club.

Hopefully we will have a nice place to park our MINIs in the inner paddock near the control trailer and then we can watch racing from the east or west bleachers.

Good action from either viewing spot. Facilities are primitive, port-a-potties and hand washing stations as running water is phase 1.7 of the plan for HPR.

I hope a lot of people sign up, we have to support HPR and Byers to make this a better facility, plus it's just plain fun.

as promised - more details:
Meet at 8:00 AM at Children's Hospital (I-225 & Colfax) and head to Byers for breakfast at the Longhorn Restaurant. After some food and some info we will drive to the track to catch some of the morning vintage car racing. At noon we may be invited for a couple of parade laps and then more vintage car racing in the afternoon.
Sunscreen is not optional and will be checked.

Chuck,

Do you or have you invited the Classic MINI folks to come out and join us at the track. Could be fun to mix the old and new, again.

Due to a parts shipping SNAFU I will not have my Mini ready by this Saturday.
Due to a necessity to pay for said (as yet to arrive) parts, I will be working again. OT at least. Have fun.

Can't make it to the meeting and breakfast this weekend. I have to coach a swimming meet at DU.
Thanks,

Minor quirk: Note that clicking the above "Club Calendar" link, you'll be taken to the calendar and automatically signed up for the breakfast (your NAM name added to the bottom of the list without further clicking). If you don't want this, simply click the link in the calendar that removes your name from the list.

It is going to be great seeing a new MINI or two. Notice a few names on the calendar I did not recognize.

Congratulations - Rich. I saw the posting over in the introduction area.

I've tried to add to the event in the calendar the last few days, but no luck. Me and my brother will be there at children's in the morning.

Loving the weekend meetings! Had a great day yesterday and our guests had even more fun. I got a little more tired than usual since I was used to Rich driving me and Rudebox around.

Here is a link to a combination of pictures my sister and I took with my camera: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...8&l=eab12a0cd1

A couple videos may also show up on MINI5280's Facebook page.

PS The MINI bug is bitting our friend even harder...we had to make a pitstop to Schomp after the day's events. Teena

Nice video, I will check out the pictures a bit later, real tired and sunburned. Again!

Long afternoon and Sunday, but a fun, fun time.

I will put up some pictures later of the day with the MINIs.

Today they had the Jag and Triumph clubs out along with a R/C model plane show at lunch.

We were the only folks who got lunch laps (yeah for MINI5280).

Racing was good Sat. afternoon and today.

A huge MINI5280 club thanks to Don for getting us some laps. What a great track I had way too much fun. I'm entering therapy tomorrow to see if I can get rid of this track jones.

Thanks for the photos Don & Teena. I'm sure one or two will find themselves into the next newsletter.

I will try to remember our 'Hero' car video camera next time too. That way we get some cool bumper video!

Rich,

How long have you had the hero vid, I have one but it's still in the not used yet state. Ordered via the special over on MA.

If you used it, what do you use to edit?

We have used it once or twice and have not tried editing it yet. If you want I can send you the last one we did, so you can see it. The file format for the video is AVI, and the photos are jpg, so any editor that works with AVI will work.
