Took the 09 Challenge wheels for new shoes today

I guess you would call this fun.

I took my 09 JCW Challenge wheels over to the tire shop today.

Putting on new Nitto NeoGen 215/45/17 as my summer tires with these wheels.

I will plunk a picture or two in here after I get them back in the morning.

Don

It rained last night, so Butters was soaked this morning. I took a towel & wiped him down...dropped the top & had one of the cleanest cars on the road. It made for a fun commute this morning.

and as danandtan said..."A good detail always adds about 10 HP. "

M7 vendor based in California, they make various performance parts for the MINI.

The unit Tommy has is the Supercharger intercooler with M7 logo. Pretty nice piece of hardware.

Don

I agree, a clean MINI is a faster and happy MINI. Nice Cabrio Not4no1.

Does this count?

I called ASK MINI and they told me I'm scheduled for completion today.

Hope that counts.

Yesterday, took a small boulder to the windshield

Luckily Elite Auto Glass came out and repaired it before it spread...it's still massive though

Sorry, I don't know anything about engines. Is this a replacement for whatever comes in the "S" model, or something you add to the non-S?

Here is a crash course on the supercharger, and intercooler

The supercharger was the key "go fast" part on the 02-06 Mini cooper S. What happens with this is, the supercharger is driven by the engine rpm, via the serpentine belt. what happens is when you press the throttle air is sucked in by the intake, then the supercharger compresses the air. This indirectly effects the temperature of the air, making it hotter. when the air exits the super charger it passes through the intercooler. think of the intercooler as a "air radiator", when the air passes through the intercooler is is cooled by air that is passing through the intercooler from driving, thus making the air colder. the denser and colder the air, and the faster she goes. with the stock intercooler, the air had to come though the hood scoop and turn 90 degrees to pass though the intercooler. The M7 intercooler is a DFIC (Direct Flow InterCooler). The air just passes straight in and out.

This isnt something that the standard cooper utilizes because it's not supercharged or turbocharged. this is considered a "naturally aspirated" engine. i hope that explains a little bit what it is used for!
