EuroBerge Presents: 2nd Annual Mt Evans Sunrise Drive - July 25, 2009
EuroBerge Presents: 2nd Annual Mt Evans Sunrise Drive - July 25, 2009
Have you ever wanted to be on top of the world during sunrise, to look out in any direction and see the most amazing scenery come to life? This drive is not for the weak of heart as it will take you up the world’s highest paved road to the peak of Mt Evans to witness the sunrise. This is one of the most spectacular drives I have ever done and cannot wait to do it again. The drive to the peak will take approximately 2 hours, so we must leave very early in order to guarantee we make the 5:52 sunrise. The photo opportunities are endless, so bring your camera.
As a general idea, if your car is VERY low, I would recommend riding with someone else that has 4x4 status or bringing a different car. The road isn't exactly the greatest from what I remember. I will do do a preliminary drive before the drive to get an idea on the road conditions for everyone. I promise this will be one drive and sunrise you will not want to miss.
Afterwards, we will be heading to a local diner for breakfast as a group.
Notes: Due to limited size of the parking lot at the summit, we would prefer European cars only at this event. To reserve your spot, please email me at richard.melick@euroberge.com with your information so I can update everyone with more details as we get closer to the event.

Richard - MINI5280 is heading up on opening day Friday May 22nd. We'll report back the road conditions for your ride. Last year they had worked on the really bad spot up by Summit Lake, but it was still rough. Also note it is only $10 if you get out of the car, otherwise it is a State road and the feds can't charge you for using it. Stick it to the man, man!
PS - you're giving up a ride up Squaw Pass for I-70? Even at 3:30 in the morning its better then I-70!
