Well, like an idiot, I didn't spec Xenons when I configured and ordered. I thought--hey, regular halogens will be fine, right? I'm an idiot, but I think I mentioned that already.

Even swapping brighter halogens didn't get the quality of light that I had hoped for, so I'm thinking I really should save the money to do the freaking swap from halogens to the stock-style Xenons. Maybe my night vision will improve by the time I decide to do that, but I doubt it.

Or maybe I should just do driving lamps. Hmmm...

So I'm torn at this point. My warranty expires next month so I've been looking at the cost of extending it through either GE or WarrantyDirect, but both will be voided with any mods. So do I skip the cost, do what I want, and deal with issues as they come up? The wife is worried about how expensive it can be to repair the MINI.

Thoughts?

Short answer. 09 JCW or new R57.

Do you have mods currently? I'm not sure I would extend with any warranty company that is explicit on stating no mods.

Did you check with MINI directly, if you love your car, get it fully checked at the dealer, then live with what breaks.

Let us know what you decide, but for the love of pete, don't sell your MINI and get a Prius.

No, no....the MINI stays.

At this point I have no mods, but would very much like to do a CAI and 15% pully. I have an appointment next Friday, but not sure how willing they will be to do a complete look over to fix anything under warranty. I just had the Inspection I done, so all should be good.

Still though, I think I'd rather take my chance of something major needing to be paid for, than pay the warranty price now plus each needed deductible.

Good picture, facing east where?
I swapped the tires over from what was on it when I bought it. I believe they are Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons. Really not a bad tire, even went through the snow OK.

Thanks for the comment on the photo. I took it on a dirt road running between 160ish and 168th about 2 miles east of I-25.

I was at Ralph Schomp today to replace my brake fluid and asked Devin about the deal that Morristown Mini has for the stage 1 JCW package... Morristown sells the kit for $1,680 plus shipping. Devin said that Ralph Schomp will match it... so you save the shipping cost if you order it from Schomp... Now that's a great deal...

Is shipping more then sales tax? If not then get it from Morristown and save the sales tax.

That's right

I didn't think about taxes!! the tax would be about $135 assuming they charge close to 8%. And Morristown charges $84 shipping. so you save more than 50 bucks... enough to sponsor the brew exchange program for our MITM.
But I am still waiting for Jan's tune....

I want to see this when you have it installed. It should make a nice difference, perhaps 8-10HP, too.

I ordered an ED cat-back with the resonator add/delete feature, we shall see how that sounds in a few weeks.

Last mod before another dyno day and tuning.

Hopefully somewhere in the 10hp range, and the sound too Thinking about the Alta exhaust later on...but have to convince Jenn first

Wheels definitely need to come next though, I'm tired of squealing through corners. Some 17s or even 18's - probably JCW

A set of webbie 17s on your Clubman would look mighty fine.

Of course, a nice set of JCW 18s would look good too, but lots of $$.

The Clubbie is now ALIVE! What a difference the Alta intake makes! Although I kind of expected that since I had it on my 05 S.

Don, sorry but I found a set of 17" bullet wheels I think I'm gonna go with - Jenn said they were okay, 'cause they didn't have the "bolts".

Post some pictures and tell us what tires you put on the new wheels. I like the "bolts".

I do love the Nitto Neo Gens.

I think the mods are done, except for a new back window.

Spent the evening on the rack with Scooter.

Really need to stop now or I will not get any Christmas presents in December.

New Challenge wheels - check.

New Nitto Neo Gen 215/45/17 - check

New Plex Wifi OBD-II sender - check

Rev. Software for Ipod/Touch Iphone - check

New ED cat-back with resonator delete for R56 - Check.

Jan R56 tune - future TBD

Busy, busy and the budget is busted.

Pictures of the exhaust before and after.

Need some new pictures of Scooter after I clean off tonight's rain.

Don

It tends towards loud. But I was surprised, Patty like it in it's current state. I have a muffler/resonator optional pipe piece coming from ED.

Try this link for a picasa sound clip.

Thanks for the comment.

Btw, what was that stuff you were cleaning your exhaust tips at the Group clean, kitchen product I think?

Nice sound! Thanks for the clip.

That stuff was NEVR-DULL wadding polish. After trying it at the group clean, (Chuck brought it) I picked some up at Wal-Mart for around $5. Found it in the automotive section. Good stuff.

The sway bar will make a huge change Jamie - you'll like it. Set it in the middle hole to start with.

BTW - I also found that NeverDull works great on white stripes for getting stains and specks off. Don't use it on your paint or you will get swirls.

Is this NeverDull the same thing that you use for the muffler tips?
