What's up everyone? I have just recently purchased a 2006 Cooper S, so excited, I've always liked Minis and when I found this British Racing Green one with only 41,000kms I couldn't pass it up. Yes you read that right 41,000 kms, the previous owner never drove it. I live in Victoria BC and this car still will only get driven on weekends and occasional evening so I'll only probably put 4 or 5 k a year on it.
So far the car is bone stock except for a JCW cai with K&n filter and the flap removed. I just ordered a 15% reduction pulley with belt and colder plugs. Ordered from Madness Motor Sports. Getting parts from the States to Canada is a bit costly atm so if anyone knows a good source in Canada please let me know.
As soon as I get the parts in I plan on getting a one ball mod at the same time to hold me over until I can get a full cat back exhaust. Although my next purchase will probably be a 22mm rear sway bar.
Here is a picture as she is now....Plan on getting some black spoke wheels at some point and blacking out the chrome, going to talk to a good vynil shop I know about doing that. Also not sure if I might do a light tint all the way around minus wind shield of course. Not sure though tint seems to gone with the 90s these days.
Anyway I plan on being an active member on here so nice to meet you all.
Ryan
wow!!! very nice its Spotless ...really like those rims ...you should keep them and plasti dip them black ....
Thanks man, ya it's pretty mint. I actually did plasti dip them gun metal but didn't like it...it turned out more grey than gun metal so I removed it pretty much right away. I think your right about the black though. I probably will try that at least before I buy new ones.
That's a nice MINI!
And the mileage is spot on chap.
More importantly though...you have a BRG roof which next to a black roof is my favourite color with a BRG body.
Nice purchase, I hope to see your updates soon!
Just got my 15% reduction pulley in from Madness...yikes after shipping, exchange and brokerage fees it cost me $300 Canadian to my door. That's just for a pulley and smaller belt. I'll pick up plugs locally....any recommendations on plugs?
Welcome to NAM, Ryan! Congratulations on the purchase. Looks like it was well taken care of. If you need any help or have any questions please be sure to let me know!

That's pretty crazy, I'm in Edmonton so I know your pain on the customs duty and shipping.
Best place I have found to order through is ECS Tuning, Rock Auto and FCPeuro for stock parts. For aftermarket I always go Ebay with there Global shipping option, that way there is no fees after the purchase all up front and way cheaper than any other option. Alta 17% pulley with Gates HD shorter belt cost me $235 to my door no exrtra fees. Trust me I've ordered over $4K CND in the last month or so Ebay is the cheapest.
BTW love the BRG, same as mine other than the roof.

Thanks man I was just looking at your build...that's awesome. I like the wheels you have chosen...is that company you got them from here in BC?
Thanks gonna pick some up this week. Do they need to be torqued to a specific level?
BKR7EQUP here if needed. Torque the spark plugs to 27 Nm (20 ft-lbs). That spec along with install instructions can be found here if you need help with with the DIY.

Whats up guys...so hopefully my pulley will be installed in the next couple days. Hard finding a good shop here in Victoria to do the job. Also I found an exhaust on Amazon made by top speed....here is a sound clip I found on youtube
