2009 Sandy Crack Rallye

Giving you some lead time on this.
I'm proposing a ride leaving Denver on April 18th early and swinging down to Colorado Springs before going up, over and down to the Sand Dunes National Monument near Alamosa. Here is the proposed route: Sandy Crack
This route is about 250 miles so if we leave at 7:00 AM, pick up the CS bunch at 8:00 AM we should be skiing down sand dunes by +/- 11:30 AM. This would give us about 5 hours of dune time and some lunch picnic style before heading back over La Veta Pass and Walsenburg then up I-25 home. I would estimate back in Denver by 7:00 PM. We could even find a restaurant in Colorado Springs to grab some dinner.

So what do you think? Are you ready for some sand in your crack?

Picasso liked Crack

too. Perhaps the beginning of a ride logo, Teena?

If nothing comes up I'm so in on this! Sand Dunes are one of my favorite places in CO. Seems so crazy we have them.

Missing another

Wow, looks like this could be fun.

I will be working the race in La Junta, probably corner 5 or grid.

Take lots of pictures so I can drive and enjoy vicariously.

I wonder how many people will do a search on NAM for the Sandy Crack?

I'm a little tired of being the butt of the jokes.
Now off to bed, I get up at the crack of dawn.

Thanks for the invite! I've posted it on the NMMINI Forum and will try to get some traffic to this thread. See you there!

Sandy Crack Rallye shirts on CafePress

By "miniconcarne" request, several types and colors of special Sandy Crack Rallye shirts are now available directly from CafePress (our markup is only $1). Please visit: www.cafepress.com/mini5280 for examples and to order. Note that some shirts have the graphic (above) on the front, while others have it on the back with "Sandy Creek Rallye" on the front (pocket location). Again, your only cost is production and postage plus $1 to MINI5280, which helps pay various fees. We do not maintain an inventory of shirts.
