I think we should hold another raffle.
Get a ticket at the door and the winner gets a MINI5280 T-Shirt in your size and gender.
Cost to participate, free!
Must be present to win.

Win a 2009 NAM Calendar
But wait, there's more! For those not winning a t-shirt, we'll draw another couple of tickets for free 2009 NAM Calendars, courtesy of MINI5280. You get it all -- just for attending the January meeting, a chance at a t-shirt and NAM calendars. Who knows, maybe we'll get a few sets of Ginsu Knives to add to the fun!
Fourth MITM is Aug. 5 - 9, 2009
Actually, we'll be there setting up on the afternoon of Aug. 5th, with plenty of time for an evening ride and/or impromptu dinner nearby. That way things are ready to go bright and early on the 6th. Please visit www.MINIsintheMountains.com for full 2009 MINIs In The Mountains information, as it becomes available. We'd love to have Luke (BLUCOOPR), all the way from NC, back in the mountains for his 4th consecutive MITM!

Can't go -- well, could, but won't. I get up to darn early in the morning for work and work such long days some days. I just don't like to go that far from home on a school night. lol
Yes, I admit it. I am a sissywimp!!

I'm at work by 5 AM each morning Vickie and I work only a few blocks from Pints so I go home at 5PM (12 hrs is all I can do any more) and then drive back. You have no excuse and you will not win the cool MINI5280 swag.
I'm always keen on a good guilt-trip.
Bottom-line is that a person can rationalize any action or decision they make. If you don't come to the meeting it isn't because it is too late or too far, most of the time its because you don't want to. So my job is to make the meetings fun enough so that you want to come. I have a couple of ways of doing this; meeting location or content. We have bounced around to different locations primarily to give people some variety and to share the driving time but also because I don't feel we have found the ultimate meeting spot. Still very open to other locations that people suggest but remember the meeting locations should be large enough for 30, quiet enough to be heard and accessible to all members.
As for content I try to have an agenda so that the meeting is organized and too the point and doesn't take too long. Most of what we discuss can be found in the newsletter but sometimes not due to timing or originator. The topics are pertinent to the club and so need to be covered but perhaps not enough to justify a trip downtown so "late" at night. To give you that little extra incentive, that gentle nudge we will be adding to the agenda starting next meeting an item described simply as "Drawing". This will be your indication to break out that raffle ticket you were handed as you came in the door and see if the numbers called match those on your ticket. If so you win a MINI5280 t-shirt. Now that is an incentive. So drive the 30 minutes down to the meeting, have a beer, have some food, have some social conversation with fellow motorers then listen to the meeting and win a t-shirt (or calendar), bang you're out of there at home and in bed by 9. How's that?
Oh and BTW Vickie, this was not directed only at you.
You just gave me the opportunity to lay some general guilt down.

We'll also be giving away a few 2009 NAM Calendars. And the brand new, never seen before (not even on TV), not available in stores, official MINI5280 magnetic grille badges will be unveiled. We'll give away a few of these CooprFlags manufactured grillle badges, as well. Change your mind?
So you will change the meetings to Friday or Saturday nights???
COOL!!
LOL

No problem -- I'm tough, I can take it. But on the other hand, my days (m-f) tend to be anywhere from 10-13 hour days, so I don't usually feel up to (see, I am almost saying that I don't want to) driving down into denver.
You can call me pathetic if you want to. LOL I am, I'll admit it!

No harm... Also, I find that it's harder in the winter time... For some reason it doesn't seem to bother me being out later in the summer time... I guess it's because it's light out longer.
Meanwhile, you almost have me guilted into this one. I'll look and see how far away it is!
So, it's 23 miles and could take up to 40 minutes in traffic <sigh>
Last edited by scribbledpaper; Jan 11, 2009 at 02:47 PM. Reason: edited to add how far it is from home
But hey I'm there with you as far as ready to go home after work and winters do seem to be worse.
Okay you have just about won. If my world doesn't crash tomorrow night then I am in. I will plug the address into my gps and go. I won't use tire as an excuse.
Tomorrow night! See you there! (I hate driving into Denver)

Yeah baby! Denver loves having you. Just get off I-25 & Lincoln, head north to 13th and turn left (if you turn right you will notice all the cars honking at you as they hopefully swerve to miss). Cross Broadway, then past Acoma and the DAM to Bannock and look for a parking spot in the lot across the street from the pub. Simple - call me when you get lost.

Hey, so whatcha doing here? Need help? Maybe if you bring your car we can all dig in and give you a hand! (don't trust me though -- not only can I not find my way out of a paperbag, but I also have no concept of tools.)
lol
I'll take pictures though!

Thanks for the offer. I'll let you take pics when I put it back together. I'm doing a little bypass valve mod and an S/C gasket, while I'm at it, new coolant too.
