Got My Production Number
Got My Production Number
I finally received my production number! Yipppeee!
Being the control freak that I am it's been a very painful 3 weeks. I know that the wait for completion will be bad but at least it seems "real" now.
Soon I'll be in possession of a brand new Mini. I truly cannot wait to go for a nice long drive.

Thanks all for the well wishes.
I did end up changing a few things around after discovering that I will indeed have a '09 Mini. The Smartphone integration will be the most interesting addition. I hope that my iPhone behaves well in it
So the final order is:
Lightning Blue/Black top
Convenience, Cold, Premium Packages
Rear Fogs
Brushed Alloy Interior
Exterior and Interior Chrome Line
Black/Grey Leatherette
Smartphone integration
Hi-Fi Stereo
I couldn't be happier, well I could ... He'd already be here!

very nice! do you have the 3g iphone? I have the first gen iphone and I love it. as a matter of fact, I was going to get the new 3g one but everytime I go up to Park Meadows apple store, there's a line at least 50 people long and I refuse to wait in that. Plus, the update for the 1st gen iphone is awesome. The only downside is it seems to be a battery hog somehow?
btw, what's your new baby's name? does he or she have a name yet?

I have to wait another 4 weeks! I put my money down in late June and missed the allocation by one. What's worse is that I was told I was #7 in line and ended up #10. Appears there was a problem when they switched computer systems and the numbering was off when they told me I was #7. No prod number until Sept now.
I'm pissed at Schomp for getting my hopes up. The misinformation and lack of communication from my SA is vexing. The Manager was apologetic which I appreciate. They are making the MINI experience unenjoyable. If there was a competing dealer in the area I would be trying there instead.

All I knoiw is I will never be back to Schomp, after all the Douglas County and Schomp are only about 30 miles apart, and it's taken over 2 weeks and still no response on when my registration will be available. I wouldn't rely on Schomp for a piece of toilet paper now.
OH YEAH, I almost forgot, I only have 2 weeks till my temp is up, and good ol schomp (NOT GOOD AT ALL) is going to pay for the extra charge of it being late if it comes to that. Heck, I have enough toys, I wouldn't mind just giving Ozz-Ride back, will make room for my ItalKart Karting Car I am getting now.

The good news is that if one loves their car, the rest doesn't matter.
Your MA is just the man that ordered it, not your lifelong must deal with every day best friend or something. Schomp makes mistakes, they're human like the rest of us. Even then you don't have to often associate with them. The cars are usually good and aside from occasional maintenence, so you don't have to visit.
If you must consider them evil, I'd urge you to consider them a temporary evil that need only be associated with on rare occasion. If you love the car, then motor on; but if you care more about their customer service than the years of driving to come then good luck on your decision.
Don't let one cloudy day (or even a week of cloudy days) ruin your summer, the good times will come soon enough.

I got myself an "S". My pocketbook and Scottish heritage made a good call for getting the Cooper but my father's influence took precedence and demanded speed and agility.
Mrs. Bean - I've a 2nd gen iPhone that I love with an undying passion. It makes my hectic life so much easier being able to access my calender via Google, my email accounts, my contacts and my music all from one device. Mind you, it does suck royally when it crashes or gets lost.
I completely sympathize with all the issues with Schomp. I had problems just getting an accurate estimate of the allotment situation. First it was a couple of weeks then it'll happen sometime soon. I was originally told I could expect my car in September but now it looks as if it will be late October. I can cope with that and I really, really want the car. I wasn't about to back out of the deal but would have appreciated getting the straight scoop from the beginning.
With that history I have to say I'm concerned about markup and or dealer processing fees. That hasn't be discussed in the least despite my questions. I noticed on the production invoice a "Cold Prep" line item that was separate from the "Cold Weather Package". Anyone have any idea what that is?

Yeahhh!!! I finally recieved my production number today. My MA has been a sweetheart! I ordered my cooper on July 5th...so I've had WaaaY too much time to change my mind about what I want. I am sold on the oxygen blue, manual transmission, front and rear fog lights, Premium, Convenience and Cold Packages, All weather tires, xenon headlights, anthracite headliner, Hi Fi stereo, Sirius radio. I waffle about...white or black roof, chrome line exterior, chrome line interior, fluid silver or piano black interior surface. AY YI YI.
In the Owner's Lounge my current status is "on order". My MA said my car should be here by mid October. I will call ASKMINI on Monday to see if they can give me a definitive production week. All that being said, when will my final changes to my car be due???

I went through similar contortions UNTIL yesterday, when my MINI went into production, or status 150 to be technical. At that point, you cannot make any more changes to your MINI. Be sure to check out the 'How to Track Your MINI' thread, although it sounds like you're well on your way from that perspective. In any event, good luck through the short little waiting period and be sure to post pics of that OxyBeauty when it arrives!
