Hey Michael!

A few weeks ago when we did the Tweet me to the Twisties ride I think that you mentioned that you have a great holder for things like GPS that slides in to your dash. Can you tell me where you purchased it? I'd love to have something like that in my car!

Hahaha... Geez... I am so happy that my name is actually on a thread topic... so from now on, I will bump it from time to time...so it stays on the top...

The device is called Pro Clip... Click here to go to the website. I use it for my GPS unit, it's so easy to take it off when I am not using it and best of all, no drilling required. I highly recommend it.

Which of all the devices listed did you use for the GPS?

Proclip is a two piece vehicle and device specific mounting system.
For the base, I got the Item No. 854046 - ProClip Angled Mount which is ONLY for R56 models where the compartment door next to the right air vent can be opened.
Then since I have Magellan GPS unit, I picked an Item No. 215198 - 2 Prong (Dual T) Vehicle Mount Adapter.

Hope this helps!

Vickie, since your Bean is pretty much the same configuration as mine, you probably should pick a 854046 up for the base and all you need is to pick a Vehicle Mount device for your GPS from the website.

I thought about wrapping your name in lights, but this was the best that I could do on short notice! lol

Thank you very much for the information!! I will have to take a look and see what they've got!

As always, you are most awesome!

Pro-Clip

I too use the Pro-Clip for Jill (Nuvi 350) I use the 853013 side mount mounted to the right side down-tube and then the 215165 mount for the garmin. Then you get the mobile car kit from Garmin, I got mine from Newegg.com # N82E16858998058, Garmin cat# 010-10935-00 Click here. $29.99 ( Garmin wanted $39.99)

my problem is that I don't want to mount on the right side (and that stuff all mounts right and tilted towards the driver) I want to mount on the left hand side in that little section that can be seen through the steering wheel. The reason why I want it there is because it's currently mounted on my dash and it's hard wired in on that side already. I need to find something that's flat and can hook in there so that I can get it off the dash.

Might also want to check this thread...

Looks like if you get the mount $40 and then the Garmin Holder from Proclip $30, that will make it look like the factory one....
