Agree with Rick

At that exit there is a nice gas station and a Comfort Inn that we used a few years ago. Other food is there, too.

Everything is a few $$ less than in GJ.

We will be starting out this leg in Sterling Co. (hopefully that will be where we end the first day from Chicago) Based on that and an average of 25mpg we were planning on fuel stops in Rifle CO. and Sevier UT.

I think Grand Junction would be pushing it. But meeting in either Grand Junction or Fruita and topping off would put me on the same fuel stop circuit as everyone else.

You get good gas mileage up

here in the thin air - less wind resistance.

Of course, bad gas mileage if the cops are chasing you.

A big thanks to both Shelly and Jonathan for the help with my MINI!

I miss my MINI already, it's clear as a bell here in Houston today, dry, and 64 degrees, a perfect day to have the top down! Oh well......

Looking forward to this trip. I suspect I will have to rotate my tires after the run to LV and San Diego.

Anyone changing over to summer wheels and tires? Chuck?

Is everyone still in the same groups or any late arrivals. I saw Whitlow is going to join with someone. Group?

Getting anxious, I hope Sunday is nice for a light wax on Scooter.

Don, Whitlow is going with Jonathan, days in advance of the big groups, so they're on a schedule all their own.

Otherwise I think the groups are pretty much the same. We lost Jonathan but gained Xiek, so we're still at 5 cars for the early crew. Of course if anyone else wants to join the caravan (even last minute) you're more then welcome.

As for tires I'll still be wearing my all seasons; Kuhmo ASX to be precise. I find they perform well enough in other environment. No need for a spare set for me.

Hi all, I will be joining everyone who are leaving on Wed morning and coming back on Sunday. Just reserved the hotel room at Palace Station for 4 nites.

I have a situation now that I can't make up my mind for... so needing advices from anyone who has a minute or two... I have two sets of wheels, one with summer performance run flat tires without the Tire Pressure Sensors (TPS), the other set are with regular all season tires with TPS. So now which set should I fit on my MINI before heading west for a good time with everyone?

Thanks in advance!

I put my new Nittos on this past weekend. I'm already liking the new feel.
Hope it doesn't snow!

I'm going to stick with the Falken 912s and the 16s. Rotate when I get back from SD, then put on the 17s after I get back from China.

Looking forward to a fun drive out.

What became of the Italian dinner on Thursday night in LV, is that still on?

AMVIVing

Yes, the more the merrier. The early Wed group has grown to 6 or 7. The Wed afternoon group is holding at 3 (Chuck, Don, Rick). The earlier in the week group is Jonathan and Whitlow/Eleanor. As for tires, I just bought Yokohama Avid H4S (high performance, all season) for my S-Lites. The nicer wheels and summer tires I bought last summer will have to wait a bit longer. I also hope it doesn't snow. In a week, we'll all be AMVIVing!
