We will be coming back on Sunday, but early. I'm thinking of leaving at 4 or 5 AM to make it back and recover for work on Monday.

 

Noon on the western slope, eh? Depending on when the early caravan leaves there's a good chance we can be over there about noon. Then drive on through to Vegas that night.

Ewwww! What's wrong with you Chuck? That's an insane leaving time for everyone that should party hearty in Sin City.

I don't know when we're taking off, but 4 or 5 am sounds awfully early. I guess we'll have to see how things are shaping up when the trip actually arrives.

Speaking of which I'd like to encourage all the Denver folks that are going to Vegas to get together at the March Meeting. Its a week before we'd leave, so that sounds like a perfect time to finalize and firm up any plans.

Oh, I don't think I've ever addressed the possibility of dinner at that Italian place on Thursday. I think that would be a fine idea! We can hash out details in the next month.

Phffft ... That's nothing. When I go to Wyoming I usually leave about 3:00 AM so I can get to Gillette by 8:00 AM.
Since I need only about 4 hours of sleep I figure I can party until 1:00 AM - will that be late enough? I am approaching older you know.
I think you mentioned a favorite Italian place in Vegas so all have already set my expectations.

I have never been to Green River, but time wise it would be about the right distance for a stop-over. I learned along time ago that all hotel rooms look the same when you're a sleep so it does not matter to me. If we decide on the Comfort Inn then I will probably get reservations soon.

Ok we are leaving on 3/24 heading up to Phoenix ( I have hooked up with some members of the Phoenix club to drive with to Vegas on Thurs)
We will be leaving early on Sunday3 3/30 to get back to Colorado Springs in time for work (ugg) on Monday. So I would like to catch up with someone driving basically straight ( with gas and BR breaks only) through to Denver on Sunday.

So count me in for an early Sunday departure from Vegas.

 

We've not truly discussed the time we're leaving Denver yet, but I'd wager no later than 9am. As of yet unconfirmed.

We'll also need to add John and Katie to our list of cars (as noted above). They drive a Mellow Yellow S, but so far have no NAM handle. We've also got a couple friend (the Ks) who do not own a MINI, but are still coming along to Vegas. They're talking about leaving on the evening of 3/26, if so, I've offered that they can motor with you guys. I'm not sure if they'll go for it or not. If they do it'll most likely be in a Toyota Carolla. Silly I know, but they haven't bought a cooper; maybe in the future. We're working on them.

 

OK I'm booking a room at the Green River, UT Comfort Suites for Wednesday night 3/26/08. I figure that I've got to get it done and I keep forgetting.

I think we would be ready any time after noon. Shall we pick a rendezvous spot and a time? I assume we would take I-70 to Junction so how about the Stegosaurus lot at the Morrison exit off I-70 (exit and turn left under the interstate and then on the left) leaving at 1:00 PM?

 

Ok, I have my Green River reservation at the Comfort Inn.

I'm ok to meet around 1pm on anywhere near I70/Golden. Whichever works best for everyone. Chuck, do you have an address for google maps for the meet point?

We can talk at the meeting next Tuesday, I think I will drive down to visit.

Dinner over on the West Slope sounds good or if we really motor GR. I would guess it depends on the roads and me being the slowest person.

We will be shooting for Sterling to stay overnight on the 25th. That looks to be 2 hours NE of Denver so we'll gauge our leave time from there on what we see here. I'll have a FRS radio with me in the event anyone has one.

Ok, I've been talking about it and think that we've arrived at a decision about the time.

Assuming 3 to 3 1/2 hours on the road to Junction in order to arrive by noonish we'll need to leave Denver probably no later than 8:30. That should give AllBlack05S a chance to join us (though there will be morning traffic to get through) and all to arrive in Junction at approximately noon to meet up with cpartin.

So give a hollar if that sounds right to you guys and we'll call it an official plan. The Denver crew can meet on the West side of town at one of the I-70/Morrison lots. I don't know Junction well enough to suggest a meeting spot there, but something near the highway would be ideal.

Precisely four weeks till we hit the road, yay!

 

Sounds good, we usually wake up at 5:30 cst so we'd probably wake up at 4:30 local time and hit the road around 5:30, get past Denver and grab breakfast.

 

Here is a google map link to the Stegosaurus Lot just off I-70 to the southeast. I think this would be the Morrison exit just west of C-470.

 

Thanks, that works out to about a 40 minute drive down from either the west or east route from the north.

I will plan on getting to the lot about 12:45, unless we need to go out earlier.
