North Carolinians to MINI Takes the States

I have noticed that there are several people from NC doing the Charleston, WV to Charlottesville leg. There are at least 4 cars leaving from the Triad area on Thursday afternoon driving to Charleston, to arrive for that evening's festivities and movie. Just wanted to see who else is definately going and how we can caravan. Let me know and we will plan on where to meet along the way.

This also counts for MINI's from the western part of Virginina

I'm planning on doing the Charlottesville, VA to DC run - anyone picking the Rally up at that point?

Yeah, I'm part of that group. At last count we will have 4 cars. I was just looking for others that might want to join the caravan.

Red - I'm planning on going from W-S to Charleston, but I'll be staying on all the way to Jersey. I had planned on leaving Thursday afternoon and I know there are others from this area doing the Charleston - Charlottesville leg, but I haven't heard of any meeting place so let me know and I'll join you and any caravan!

I will be following Luke (M2C2 Pres) up to Charleston, WV on Thursday. We are the only ones from M2C2 that are doing MTTS. We are going to leave Charlotte at about 9:30 AM going straight up I77. I noticed that there were several NC and SC MINIs attending. They must not belong to Tar Heel or M2C2 nor due they post on NAM.

Please let us know if you want to caravan up, we would be glad to join you or you join us. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express. We are also Staying in Charlottesville, VA and going as far as Richmond and then heading back to Charlotte. My MINI has been to all 4 of the Dragon Runs so I could not let it miss the MTTS.

Thanks
George

Red -
I'm staying at a Microtel in South Charleston - trying to keep expenses down since I'm doing several legs. I sent Twister an email so I'm expecting to hear from him as well. George is a good guy - I was a founding member of M2C2 but I was oout of state for a while - hope we can all coordinate the journey.

George -

Where are you staying in Charlottesville? I found it to be an expensive place for lodging. College town - what are you going to do!

Hi Guys - I'm picking the MTTS up in Charlottesville unless this Tropical Storm absolutely slams the area and am staying at the Omni where the Mini folks are based. You're right though - everything's pretty expensive. Should be a blast! I'm probably doing the Skyline Drive run - anyone else taking the less-beaten path to D.C.?

I was able to do Priceline in Charleston for $46.00, but that did not work in Charlottesville. I finally did the Hampton Inn on India Road with my AAA discount it was $125.00. I hated to pay that much, but most places were full like the Omni and the University Hampton. Luke (BLUCOOPR) and I are splitting the cost so that helps.

George -

I got into a Comfort Inn for $89/night in Charlottesville. By the way, the local group is meeting at the McDonalds off US 52 in King at 1pm on Thursday. If you leave as proposed you should be about 1-2 hours ahead of us. If you want to make the drive a little longer take I-40 East to 52 North and get off of 77 for a while. Dave - I believe that I'll be taking a scenic route to DC, unless the rains set in, then I'll probably just shoot up 29 and avoid I-95. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks for providing your departure time. We may not leave Charlotte until about 10:00 AM. We will be stopping for lunch and a couple of places along the way.

We may see you along the way. Drive safe and we will see you in Charleston.
