I think he was asking if there was a lightning cable option vs. 30 pin.

oh yeah !
No, the iPhone w/lighting cable didn't exist when these kits were put together by BMW.....

You can use a 30 pin to lightning pin adapter for use with newer iphones, as NAM member Catch_Me reported on this thread:
