I can relate to the desire to have the proper mk1 logo, but sadly it is somewhat difficult to find the early stuff.
I wasn't a big fan of the JCW shiftknob though and instead went with a Raceseng Contour:

However,
I absolutely despised the stock handbrake cover and it was imperative that I got a JCW version --- but the early version was nearly impossible to find, so I just bought a new style one (on sale for $40) and wrapped it with 3M Di-Noc carbon vinyl (the previous owner had used that stuff for various accents and although I'm not usually a fan of the carbonfibre look, I really liked this stuff and continued with the theme), then just put a mk1 sticker on it.
Worked out pretty well:

As mentioned,
the mk1 handbrake covers are even more difficult to source than the shiftknobs,
but they do pop up every now and then.

Sometimes they even pop up as a set,
like this pair that sold back in Oct. for £150:

Good luck with the hunt -- you'll find it if you keep looking.
Happy motoring!
