I have just got a Whalen shift **** and have tried to fit it to my alta short shifter and it doesnt seem to slid down enough.I have the adaptor peice from ALTA to allow you to use a std shift **** but the Whalen **** seems to have a smaller hole and only goes so far .I need it to slide down further to slot onto the cutout on the top of the ****.

 

+1...can Whalen make them to fit the Alta shifter without adaptors?

 

Have you tried talking to Doug Whalen? He was absolutley the best to work with when I ordered mine (OEM shifter). He should be able to answer your questions.

 

This is the first I've heard of a fitment problem with their adaptor.

It worked great for me and I have the Alta short shift kit. Silly question, but are pulling up on the collar as you install it?

 

Have sorted it now ,thanks everyone.It was just a little stiff.
