Just heard back from mereco - after calling me a “wack job” and saying he didn’t take my money he then actually checked his paypal and saw that he did indeed take my money. He has refunded me, but still really sucks as I clearly had dibs on these gauges. I thought when he said “sold” it was to me!

 

Are you gonna post that I refunded ur money and that u sent it even after I told u they were sold ?

Just to add my two cents...

He did the same thing to me, which I thought was a bit shady. I PM'd Mereco and ask if they the gauges were still available and if so I would buy them. I received a response from him saying "still available", so I sent him money, only to find out they had be sold. (All this happened in about a 2 hour time span.) Mereco did refund me right away. I'm not here to say I had dibs, but I just don't get why people can't say hey, the item is pending sale. I had a bunch of interest in them, if person A does not send me money by time A I will let you know...

For the most part, its your neighbor down the block selling an item here. They are not in the parts business and do not sit by their computer checking their card balance at Paypal. Reading the string I can understand how the "sold" post that was made after the "pm sent" post has one person thinking the message was for them as that is just how I would have reacted. For me, I would rather have the neighbor attempt to sell their stuff here even though they might screw up and upset somebody then make no sales post at all. We are in the works of trying to update the forum that includes the Marketplace. Will try to get something in there about the buyer informing others that a sale is pending. The problem that I know from being around here for awhile is that most never read the instructions . . . .

I just bought a used set of Koni Coilovers for $225 (a great price IMO) off ebay. It was not until I saw the tracking number did I high-5 myself.
