A quick question, what year was your Mini and how do I know if my F56 Cooper S 2-door is B48 or B46 engine code? Can I find the engine code somewhere in the engine bay? Sorry for the noob questions, I just got my Mini a few days ago. I'm asking because I saw on Dinan's web site that their dinantronics elite has two versions for F56 Cooper S, one for cars up to 12/2014 and a different one (with different connectors) for cars after that date.

 

This chip works on both B46 and B48 engines. I think the early F56 cars had the B48 engine. However, the US models switched to B46 around 2015 I believe and have been using the B46 (lower emissions) engine to date. The Racechip Ultimate also does not connect to the fuel rail like the Dinantronics Elite chip does. That's why there are two versions on the Elite. Since the plug is different on early models.


The Racechip will fit any 2.0 turbo mini made from 2014-2018.


Worked very well on my 2017 F56.


Just needed a bigger vehicle so I sold it.

 

Thanks for the clarification...I'm still thinking if I should go with Dinan Elite and keep my remaining 2 years of warranty or do this and have to take it out each time before the visit...and then put it back in.

 

Just remember, many dealers don't want to see a Dinan on your car.

 

I guess you are right, I can't get the service manager of Mini of Manhattan to call me back or email me back like at all. I went to see him in person and ask about installing the Dinantronics Elite and he said yea, I would still be covered by warranty no problem but he would have to have one of his master techs do the install and that he doubts it would take just one hour - for 3 connectors and a few zipties?!?! Ridiculous! He also told me they never did any of the Dinan Elite installs in their dealership, ever? What does that say about Dinan - are they really in great relationship with Mini/BMW dealerships? Embarassing to say the least. Should I call Dinan directly and have them talk to Mini of Manhattan? All I know is I'd like to keep my existing warranty for 2 more years, it's nice to have one after many years of not having it. :-)

had a tune in the wifes last mini it was she didnt like how peaky it was or the out of bounds codes ,any codes with this one? it doesnt look to crazy is ..predictable ?
