AEM Intake (2nd Gen) SOLD

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $300
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R55, R56, R57, R58, R59
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used

AEM Cold Air Intake for the second gen cars. I had it on my 2009 Cooper S.

One of the better intake setups for the 1.6L turbo engines.

Everything is in great shape, all parts and hardware included. Airbox, turbo heat shield, filter, turbo pipe, air tunnel, etc.

The plastic press in fasteners that hold the air tunnel onto the hood work fine, but for a few bucks you can pick up replacements at an auto parts store.

There is a cutout in the bottom of the airbox so you can run lines for an oil catch can underneath it, but once everything is installed you cannot see it.

100% itrader and eBay rating.

$300 shipped to the lower 48.

PM with interest!

Do you have a link to any pictures with your OCC installed?

No worries if you don't have any on hand, but have a free bump in any case.

I hope the OP doesn’t mind me posing this. I bought this intake and it doesn’t fit my mini. Apparently this is only for N14 engines. Will sell for same price if anyone’s interested.

Adds 20hp

Actually per previous owner, it was for catch can lines.

I just noticed the box was cut. I have a catch can already. Don't understand why that was cut. I think that defeats the purpose of the ram air intake. What are you asking for it?

I have no idea since I don’t have one. Bought it w/o checking wether it’ll fit and it doesn’t on my N18. The hole is not visible and patching it looks fairly straight forward. $290 shipped

Doesn't defeat the purpose of the ram air. The ram air is only to make sure the filter receives the coolest air possible, not for pressurizing. You would have to go ridiculously fast to see any kind of positive pressure in the airbox.

I'd be a buyer at $200. I understand if that's to low for you. I just can't spend that much for something that is not in perfect shape and I have to do work on to fix it.

Any air that does come in through the ram air escapes through hole. It's also definitely not a cold air intake with all the heat coming off the engine being sucked through the hole.

Cool

+1 that box need to be fully closed, it's not about pressurizing it's about keeping the hot air out and colder air in.
I am sorry to start this, I was about to pull the trigger just had to ask.
