2007 MCS hardtop - totaled

Part fits (you may select multiples): R56

Item Condition: Used

My 2007 MCS hardtop finally bit the dust, due to a low speed 5-car pile-up. I have the possibility to buy it back from the insurance company, not sure for how much yet. I was just curious if there was any interest in parts from it, if not, then the insurance company gets it! It is British racing green with a white top, white mirror caps, manual trans with LSD, cruise control, cloth seats, BSH catch can, panoramic roof... I have owned it since new but didn't get many options, so it is pretty basic. It has 170,000 miles (yes, 170K) but is in pretty good condition. I replaced the cylinder head about 1.5 years ago because it burned an exhaust valve. The head is polished, with sodium filled inconel exhaust valves, all new guides and coated from intake manifold face to exhaust manifold face (entire air path, including combustion chamber) with a thermal barrier by Calico Coatings. Calico also coated the exhaust manifold. New timing set (chain, guides, etc. at the same time.), compression was mid-150's on all cylinders if I recall, I have the actual values at home if you want them, I didn't touch the bottom end. The only parts that are not usable are the front and rear bumpers, hood, radiator support, headlights and probably the radiator. Not sure I would trust the AC compressor, it had started to make some noise before the accident. Both doors are in decent shape, I THINK the hatch is ok, but it could be damaged at the very bottom. No glass broke, NO AIR BAGS WENT OFF. The windshield had some chips prior to the accident, so not worth anything. If there is enough interest and the price from the insurance company is decent then I will buy it back, if there isn't then it is gone. I realize it has high miles, and I'd be pretty hesitant to buy any drivetrain parts with that many, so you wont offend me if you don't want them If you have any questions, just ask and I will try to answer them. I will probably have to make a decision in the next day or two, possibly before anyone even sees this... Oh, I live just north of Detroit, MI. Hmmm, and I need to put this is a certain category...

I'm interested in the head and would consider the whole drivetrain for the right price. Let me know if you decide to buy it from the insurance company!

I can probably get the catch can without the whole car. I still have the original hose and might be able to swap it out. I'll see what they tell me they want for it then

Well, they wanted more than what I wanted to spend to keep it. I will see what I can get off of it that might be worthwhile, like the catch can.

Ok. Thanks. Let me know.
I'm sure someone would pay around $1000 for the engine if that helps.

Yeah, they wanted $1850, which I could probably get out of the parts, but I don't want to deal with the hassle (and risk) or it all. If someone lives in Detroit and wants to buy it for slightly over $1850 TODAY, let me know (hahahahaha)

It is a factory MINI LSD. I chose it as an option when I bought it new. I haven't signed the papers yet. Shoot me a PM if you are seriously interested. I'm going to the shop tomorrow to get a couple parts off of it. You're more than welcome to meet me there.
