2005 R52. Looking to buy a GOOD used OR NEW, chrome/rubber strip that fits at the base of the convertible top just above the trunk lid, think it also includes the third brake light. Don't know Pattern No, but in the event I have to go to a Stealership to buy, would appreciate any info that could be provided to identify the part number. Mine has cracked due to the Houston heat, and must be replaced before it allows ingress of water into my car interior. I assume this is NOT part of the convertible top. ????

The left and right side are diff part numbers but share one part no in the diagram below parts no. 2. The center light is separate Part no. 7.

+1 We have the rear trim kit right here with the hardware and without the hardware. Does not include the third brake light , but you will remove the four screw around it to take the trim off.

Not a lot of used cabrio parts come up here, so these might be your best bet.

 

Mine are bad too, been on my wishlist forever.

 

Wish you could replace just the rubber trim!!! That price keeps me from doing it. I keep thinking of others things to do with $300.. but will have to bite the bullet someday..

 

Thanks to ALL you guys for the invaluable information, AND thinking about this, it WOULD be advisable to fit NEW, as any used parts would be hardly worth the bother. Thanks also for the link to "MEY mini's" post which gives step by step instructions. Thanks MEY mini" great posting. Taking all this good advise and will order from ECS Tuning tomorrow.
