Stahl Racing Header

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $375
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R52, R53
Location (Region): SoCal
Item Condition: Brand New

Please read the below before asking questions -

I have 1 brand new Stahl race headers for the R53 and R52.

1) These are not really for street cars (e.g. only one O2 sensor bung)

2) Although these will bolt up to the head fine, not plug and play into a standard exhaust system. Will require fabrication of some sort.

3) Size is as follows.

I measured the outside circumference using a tailors tape measure and then ran the formula and this is what I calculated. The primaries start out at approximately the 1 5/8" diameter and stay at the diameter for 6 inches before stepping up to approximately 1 3/4" diameter.

The exhaust outlet side of the header measures just about 3 inches however, you will note that the flange is 3 bolt 3 1/2 inch (the gasket I am holding up is a 3 1/2").

Note that the silver paint on the headers rubs off pretty easily. $375 shipped in the lower 48. Thought I would use one but not going that direction.

Nice little header but like seller posted this header is not really for a street car and definitely requires some fitting.

Yeah, that is my reason for selling. Was originally thinking a race project and I have a ported head and mild cam that were going to go on the car but plans are changing so no use for these headers.

Mine is on me street car. It's worth a trip to an exhaust shop if you don't have your own welder.

Cool to hear. I just want to make sure no one buys this thinking it is street type header that can easily be put, made to pass smog, etc.

Sorry, didn't notice you were in the U.K. I don't normally ship outside the U.S. and even just taking a quick look at pricing for a box this large, you would be looking at probably around $900 for the header shipped.

Yeah, this header is a nice one so I imagine having one made from scratch would be quite a bit more expensive.

Any chance I could run a cat on it and make it street legal in California?

Sorry for the delayed response, didn't even see that you added a comment until today.

There are technically 2 different things to think about -

1) It would be very tough to integrate a cat into this header, however, you could run a cat right behind this header. Would need to be a high quality cat that could properly "clean" the exhaust so you would pass smog.

2) Even if you could add a cat and pass smog, the header is technically not CA street legal so you would have to find a smog station that didn't visually inspect or would "ignore" the header as long as the car passes the smog part.

So both are possible but expect some work/hassle to make it happen.
