good price on the accessport, someone scoop it up!
It's working perfectly it's still mounted to my car, but all u have to do is hook it up to the computer and it will reset. I can handle that if you want.

The accessport has to be unmarried, not sure of the process but I believe its simple
That's what I was saying above all u do is hook it to the computer and do a software update its really easy.

Ah man, I sold you that SSK not too long ago too! Sorry to see you leave the MINI community. Good luck with the sale.
I know... I had a blow pilot bearing and some other issues it was out of warranty and just needed a change ended up with a vw tiguan it's pretty cool. I hoping ill get even money back on the ssk.

I was told it must be uninstalled from the car which puts back the original map into the ECU. Otherwise, it will cost the buyer $300 to send in to Cobb for a reset. Believe me, as I'm going thru the same thing right now because it wasnt uninstalled properly and have to prove it wasn't stolen so they can waive the fee. Huge hassle!

I bought mine used, it was married. The guys at atla helped me with it. Hopefully they will again, I sold the car already. If not ill take the $300 dollar hit :( but I just sold it.

Interesting. Chris at Alta is the one who told me that I have to return it to Cobb and there is nothing they could do nor do they know how it can be reset by a customer without them writing special software to reprogram it. I have to wait until Cobb opens on the 2nd to get an RMA to ship back. Mine was used for two weeks by another member here and he sold it t me after his car was totaled, but he was able to uninstall it - though apparently it was not.Originally Posted by 710Ryan

If you remember what Alta had you do to reset it, please PM me with the details. I still have a few days left of vacation to play with the AP before sending it in. Thanks.
This was a while ago so they may tightened security on it, I talked to there live support and they helped me. I know a place that is an authorized tuner I may try them tomorrow too.

Thanks. Let me know if you find out anything. Alta told me I had to get the seller to provide proof of totaling the car, the VIN number, and original purchase receipt so I don't have to pay the $300. But it would be even better if I didn't have to send it in.
