The DC crew do not have much time to motor around and thought they would eat at the cafeteria in the park. However people that don't have as long a ride home could discuss a little more driving and eating for after the visit... Couldn't we?

UPDATES.....
A Map where to try to park at Grover Cleavland Service Area and directions to Liberty State Park from there. We will be there by 10:30am.

Liberty State Park is also a great park to just hang out and enjoy if you do not wish to take the ferry ride to the Statue & Ellis Island. There are marshes and paths to bird watch. You can walk the whole park if you like. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the park but not on the ferries or monument islands. Bicycles & Rollerblading are also allowed in the park.
You may pack your own lunch or purchase at the monuments. A food concessionaire is located on Liberty Island and Ellis Island or you can bring your own. (Large coolers will not be allowed through security screening) Please be aware any bags or small coolers will be checked by security. Most likely more than once at each monument. This will make your screening process take longer so pack light.
Please read this know before you go page:http://www.nps.gov/stli/planyourvisit/things2know.htm
Parking at the ferry terminal will cost about $7.00. Here is a map with info on free parking areas and walkways to viewing points…aka photo OPS. Plenty of picnic areas can be found by the free parking areas or bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the lawns by the Hudson River.
