Kart Racing Anyone??

Anyone interested in going Kart racing at Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte. It's a indoor karting track, located at I-77 and I-85 interchange. I contacted VLK and was told we could get a discount on membership if we go as a group. They offer different packages on races, to fit most every budget. Have a look at their web site www.victorylanekarting.com and if we can get a good group together it should be great fun, for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
We set a date of July 24th, Sunday at 2pm....We have extended the sign up till we have 12 signed up...If I missed your name please post and let me know...

Count me in. I vote for a Sunday afternoon.

Ed Keady at Hendrick had talked about going, but he needs a Sunday afternoon. It sounds like bluesmini needs a Sunday afternoon also.

Thanks for getting this started.

I would drive up if the date didn't conflict with an autocross.

This brings up another opportunity, the Atlanta MINIs have arranged a MINI autocross school for July 9.

Sounds like it might be kind of fun. Depending on when, I could be there, too.

I see the Atlanta MINI's school is a "club members first" event. Hopefully they'll have a few open slots if some one else wants to get in.

Karting

I've revised the first post setting a date of Sunday July 24 at 2pm. I'm going to need a list of all who can attend to be able to get a price from VLK..Also, great news, Ed Keady at Hendrick MINI has said he may be able to help with some of the cost. THANKS ED So check your calendar. We're going to keep this a M2C2 members event. Then we're going to motor to the University area for dinner after karting, for any one interested..George suggests Smokey Bones....about 4:30 to 5:00 even if you don't go karting come hang out and go to dinner after. Go to www.smokeybones.com and go to the link for Charlotte. They have a huge parking lot and great food.
"DON'T FORGET MEMBERSHIP HAS IT'S PRIVILEGES"
Please see first post for list

Before you settle totally on a date, for those who might be interested to know (e.g. Audioman & Mini03Tiger84), THSCC will be holding an autocross at the Danville, VA airport also on July 17th. This is the Sun following the Sat "Chicks-Only School".

Audioman & Mini03Tiger84 have been running quite a few of the THSCC autoXs this season & we'd love to see more M2C2 drivers out there!

Carl & I might also be interested in a karting trip sometime, but not on an autoX weekend.

Thanks Emmie,
I just checked back on this thread and thought that was a conflicting day. Wish I could do both. I'll have to pass on Karting, unless a different date is decided on.

It's nice to have the dilemma of choosing between so MINI things to do

See you in Danville.

Karting

Due to popular demand, and not conflict with the autoX we are changing the kart date to JULY 24. Hope all you autoX folks can attend. I'll change the date in the first post to reflect.

Hey

Hey all...somewhat new to the group here. I would like to attend the Karting fun on Sunday, been there once before and it is truly a blast.

Just wondering about the AutoX the weekend before, does anyone have any info regarding that? Thanks

Your public profile doesn't show your city, so not sure where you're located. Tirewarmer is in SC & I'm in NC. The autoX I'm referring to is a Tarheel Sports Car Club event being held at the airport in Danville, VA. For more info about this & other THSCC events, check http://thscc.com.

If this is the event you are referring to & the website doesn't answer all of your questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Vir

if some of you are going to an autocross at the danville airport please make a point to go by VIR. it's maybe 13 mins from the airport. that weekend is a club member event. usually if you sign in at the gate they'll let you come in and watch. members have some really great cars there. i'm pretty sure at least 3 members have MINI's. lots of those members also have more than one track car. i'll be there this coming weekend checking out my new BBK with the BMW club.

Victory Lane Karting is a blast. It's big time fun and is nothing like the kiddy karts you'll see most places. These are 9HP racing karts, and they're seriously fun.

I will be away on vacation, so I won't make it. But if you're in town, this event is not to be missed.

Someone should bring a camera to record the event for those who can't make it.

Here's a link to the MINI school thread on the AtlantaMINIs website for more details... http://atlantaminis.proboards32.com/...ead=1119633057

I'm sure there will be room for some of our MINI family in the Carolinas!
