CLT area Meet n Eat Tuesday, 6/17/08
Another change of plans. The MTTS route will be arriving in Charleston on Monday and leaving on Tuesday morning vs. Wednesday. Sooooo, we're back to Tuesday evening for our BBQ pig out.
For our June event we're going for a landmark spot - R.O.'s BBQ in Gastonia at 1318 Gaston Ave. in Gastonia, NC at 6:30 PM. It's been around almost as long as our Prez.

I'm In, I'm In, I'm In, the Prez. If you don't like BBQ, try there Burgers with BBQ Slaw. Only place in the world with that Slaw except at his brother place, Blacks BBQ on US 321 South, If you have never tried it your are in for something that is so good they even sell the BBQ Slaw in Harris Teeter and other fine establishments. We will not eat til around 7-15 to 7-30 to give everyone time to get there. They have big parking lot and we can all park together. Welcome to my home town. Prez
Sorry, won't be able to make this one after all, will be at the MTTS.
Yes, I will be able to make this since we are driving back Tuesday morning.

I vote we change the date to wednesday evening! We could just drive from Charleston SC to R.O.s that evening. Anybody?

so let me get this straight. After the Monday night fiesta in Charleston at Patriots pt. all those attending MTTS will spend the night somewhere in chuck-town and we'll all leave around 3pm-ish the next day so we can end up at RO's a little before 7pm. May i recomend a great place to eat lunch before we head out?
the blvd. Dinner
it's very close to Patriots pt and the food is out of this world. all homemade seafood and southern dishes and 95% of the menu is $8.
last time i had lunch there i had a bowl that consisted of collard greens with nuggets of fried shrimp/cheese grits on top with a piece of grilled flounder on top of that. $8.

Chris, sorry we didn't get up with you in the port city for lunch. We took a mule buggy tour and by the time it was over we had to cut out to Gastonia for the meet n eat. We had 15 MINIs show up in Gastonia and the food was good and we met some newbies and talked MINI talk! Glad you made it to Charleston and would have loved to have you on the whole trip, as we had a Large MINI time.
