I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S that was in a accident that ended up damaging the front passenger corner of the car. I was going probably about 30-35mph when a lady pulled out in front of me from a stop sign and stopped in the middle of a busy Road. My reason for creating this post is to ask what yall may suggest about repairing the front right frame rail. Its been pushed up about a half an inch and pushed in, making the rail crumble up at least 2.5- 3.5 inches.
I have aready begun the repair myself in my garage but im stuck on whether to pull the rail myself and get it as close as i can to OEM but im also considering taking it as-is to a frame shop and having them straighten it the right way just due to my limitations within my garage. Any idea of what a shop would charge to just hook it up and pull that rail out, if its already dismantled and thats all i want them to do?
I can't quote what a shop would charge, but I would definitely recommend going that route to have it done right. It will ensure no worse damage is done and that everything will line up right when you put it all back together.
Sad to say, but that is a totaled car, To much work cost wise plus that looks like frame damage also, it may never be right.
Good luck on getting back to Motoring
