Man I'm so excited about this. For all you other MINI owners that will be a fun time for all.

 

I'm a total newbie here. In fact, I just ordered my MINI a few days ago. I live in Irvine, so assuming my car shows up by then, I should be good to go (although I probably can only make the weekend and maybe evening events due to my work schedule).

I looked on the MMW site, and was wondering exactly what goes on. For example, how does the night run and evening drive work? Do we all drive together in a massive line around OC showing off our cars? What is a poker run? Is it a wild poker game, or some kind of drive?

Thanks - and sorry if these seem like ridiculous questions.

 

Captdf -- You are not alone! I am supposed to be getting my Mini this weekend [fingers crossed!] and I'm already racking up the events I want to go to! I was thinking the same things, as I have never been to a rally/event before and we will not be able to stay all weekend, probably only come up for Saturday.

Either way, maybe we'll see ya there! Congrats on your order!

 

well I hope you all show up... it will be a blast...

@Capdtf- the poker run consist of you driving from point to point with a navigator and when you stop at the points you pick up a card,.... at the end of the run, the team/driver with the best hand wins the prize (whatever that may be)

and I think the evening drive is just that... driving around the OC in a caravan showing off our cars.... as a driver of a classic mini... it's VERY cool to see 10+ of these little cars traveling in a pack... let alone 30-300

 

i feel like taking that drive. noCAL to soCAL.. I think i will be in for this one..

 

getting close now. this will be a great time. Hope the weather is good too. get a little warm in Irvine in the summer.

Just found out about this and sounds so fun! I am hoping I can make it!

 

Well, we had a blast! We did the poker run, met some really nice people and took a great scenic drive. Loved it!

 

The Motoring and Dining Mini Enthusiast Network (MADMEN from Tucson AZ) wish to thank the gang from MOALA for putting on a first class event.

Hello Had a great time,

Does anyone know who was awarded for the various categories at the car show. My son took pictures of his "winners" and really wants to know how he did. I belive they were announced at the banquet.
