V1 Remote Display Location R56

I finally found a good location for my V1 remote display on my R56, where it is in my line of sight and not readily visible to other motorists. That little space seems perfect for it. If that position is blocked by the steering wheel for you, then it can be mounted up higher. I used the supplied velcro and it has a death grip on the dash and the unit.

Doesn't that location block the radar/laser antannas?

No. Just the remote unit is there. The actual unit is mounted to the right of my rearview mirror. Check my gallery for that picture.

Oh ok. How did you manage the wires on the actual unit?

Ran them under the headliner, down the passenger side pillar, behind the dash, through the back of the center stack to the lighter adapter (I didn't want to hard wire). Took about 10 minutes.

That location looks good. I'll propably do the same, but I'm going to move the RJ-11 jack to the back of the V-1 remote, so that the cable & connector are totally hidden.

I've also got the prototype built for the auto-sport button time delay reley, which will engage the sport button 10 seconds after start-up.

I would be interested in that relay. Although, coming from an extended period with a 96 Mazda Protege LX, the MCS seems like a rocket without using the sport button. Another couple of weeks, though, and I expect it will be a frequently used feature.

It would be nice to have the rj hidden on the remote, but it doesn't bother me that much, since it's on the left and not easily seen from the driver's seat.

As soon as my MCS arrives (hopefully 06/10), I'll test it on the MCS, and give you a heads up.

Hope not ! As light as these cars are, it's a shame that they don't air freight them over!
