R56 MAERSK WAVE
Looks like she's made quite a bit of progress.

yeah she has made some progress. the only crappy part about it is they travel so slow. i've been across the atlantic on a DDG(guided missle destroyer) more than a few times, and we used to make a moderate pace and do the trip in around 8-9 days. It sucks these cargo ships take so long. i want my MINI now.
Patience grasshopper, er, duck. At least YOU got on the ship.

I know man, i can't be too impatient, it seems like just yesterday i ordered the car. So the waiting game isn't too bad i guess. Seems like you have been waiting forever. When did you place the order at the dealer?
March 12th. Hopefully it will sail on the ISOLDE on Monday.
For those of us awaiting the wave on the west coast, I would guess that because our lady luck left southampton a day later than scheduled, then she'll be pulling into Cal. on the 25th at the earliest?
I think it's running a day behind. It was suppose to leave the UK on the 2nd but didn't leave until late on the 3rd. I also noticed on the schedule it was suppose to hit Georgia on the 12th, but it changed a couple of days ago to the 13th. Now that schedule stills says Cal. on the 24th, but I see a pattern developing here.
For those interested (me), I got word from those boys over in the bimmer forums that the Maersk Wave went through the Canal yesterday morning. Specifically the Gatun Locks at 6:15am. Presumably past the locks by now and chugging up the Pacific.
Hard to believe we've come this far! Way to go gang! None of us has gone crazy yet. Just a few more weeks. Anyone know VDC times? I plan to talk with my MA this week about a few details regarding our trade in, so perhaps he'll have info on how long this last stage will be. I'll be sure to post.
They were pretty hazy with me about timing. After the ship arrived in Port Hueneme on April 3, all they would tell me is that I would have the car before the end of the month.
I think it just all depends on how many cars they get at the VDC, whether your car is the first off or toward the last, how many BMWs are also coming in and how many ships have landed recently. In our case, they said there were three in something like six days.
It took about a week for mine to get out of the VDC and on a truck. I noticed some of the other cars on my ship arrived at the Tacoma dealership before ours did in Portland.
Hard to say how many variables might be involved. Good luck, though, on getting yours soon. Thanks for all of your support while I was waiting for mine.

Thanks back to you Sowellman, for sharing your experience at Rasmussen. You've probably helped us out more than those guys!
Nah, we're glad to be buying from them and of course looking forward to ending our wait and driving a MINI home.
