Hey,
I did a search and nothing for this topic came up, so, I was jsut wondering how many of you have not had any major problems with your MC or MCS. I have had the cold start problem, but that wasnt major, and it was fixed easily. I have an '02 "S", and 19,950 or so miles. How about you?

My 03' MCS arrived with every problem in the book but hasn't developed any new ones in 4000 miles. Does that count?

'03 MCS off the mfg line on 1/15/03. No problems at all with 4,987 miles. Usually I'm making my list for my first visit to the dealer with a new car, no list started.

02/02 Build MINI Cooper 5-speed almost 10,000 miles.

- Tranny cable replaced
- rock-crack windshield.

I call that perfect.

My MCS was built third week of December 2002 and was delivered Jan 31, 2003. The only major problem was a faulty transmission, which the dealer changed out before it was delivered. Since then the only problem has been a rattly boot hatch which I fixed with 3 inches of electrical tape. 2500 miles of motoring so far!

15.5k miles - installed the Madness intake @ 10k and had Helix do the pulley @ 11k. The ONLY prob I have is the driver's side window SOMETIMES squeaking on a rainy day when I raise it. But it's really not a problem.

Oh yeah, I REALLY LOVE every minute driving this car!!!!!!!!

Rear passenger seat latch rattle fixed, used velcro strips to quiet the sunroof, found that a high pitched frequency squeal at higher speeds was due to the recirc air being on- no other problems at 3750 miles- been motoring since mid February.

I only have 1700 miles on my 2/03 build MCS. My only problems so far have been solved by reading the owner's manual. Many of the problems I have seen in MCO are solved by reading the manual. Tonight I had the low tire warning light go on. I solved it by checking the pressure, it was ok, so I used the reset button, problem solved, just like the manual said. I thank those who had earlier builds and experienced real problems for helping us with later build dates.

Out of 142 views of this thread you'd think that there would be more replies. That can't be a good thing. Well, actually for us, I guess it is, we got the good ones.

Back latch is the only issue I've had. 3 months and nearly 6000 miles.

Don't sweat the views! K7lro is right. Some of us haven't had a problem because we are still waiting for our MINI!

With close to 27,000 miles on my '02 MCS I really haven't had any MAJOR problems. A few rattles, cold start, recovery tank, rear latch rattle and sunroof rattle (but none of these are MAJOR). All but the sunroof rattle has been taken care of by the dealer during normal service (I fixed the sunroof rattle with velcro tape).
